It's a pretty easy run, with a trip to Florida State and home game against South Carolina thrown in there.

Saturday, November 20th vs. N.C. Wilmington, 8 PM
Tuesday, November 23rd vs. Morehead State, 7 PM
Friday, November 26th vs. Miami (OH), 4 PM
Tuesday, November 30th at Florida State, 7:30 PM
Thursday, December 9th vs. IUPUI, 7 PM
Sunday, December 12th vs. Western Carolina, 4 PM
Wednesday, December 15th vs. Florida Gulf Coast, 6:30 PM
Saturday, December 18th vs. South Carolina, 2 PM
Tuesday, December 21st vs. N.C. Asheville, 8:30 PM
Thursday, December 23rd vs. Oakland, 8 PM
Monday, December 27th vs. Tennessee-Martin, 8:30 PM

What do you want to see from the Buckeyes in this stretch after the win at Florida?

Just some improvement on their defensive rotation, which got alot better just from the 1st half to the 2nd half in the Florida game. I think that will also solve the small rebounding problem we saw in the 1st half. Other than that, just get Thomas and Sibert alot of game time. The offense is going to be explosive, so their defense won't have to be great.

It really is pathetic how weak their schedule is. I understand they want as many home games as possible, but what an insult to the season ticket holders.

How aer those team gonna prepare you for the end of the season?

MSU will play S. Carolina, Duke, Texas, Oklahoma, UConn, Syracuse..........

FYI...Duke schedule is NOT much better. And MSU is rare. Not sure thats a good comparison. That is Izzo. And in one or two of his seasons, it has almost cost his team as well.

No defending OSU schedule. But if you paid attention to the announcers, they said to get Florida on the schedule, OSU also had to schedule the next 3/4 teams. There was some kind of tie in with that.
It certainly isn't a good schedule at all. But its not like OSU is any different then most to be honest. Doesn't mean we have to like it, we don't. I have season tickets and would much rather see better teams. But again, when it comes to NCAA, there is something to be said about wins, wins and wins. And when you are in a conference as tough as the Big Ten, you are going to have some losses....if you take the chance on any given year to compound your league losses with some out of conference losses...it could cost you dearly come NCAA. But ya, the schedule does suck.

I really don't buy the argument as to how much playing a tough pre-conference schedule prepares you for the Tourney either (before someone brings it up). The Big10 provides ample preparation. We as fans want to see it, but it certainly isn't a necessity.

The schedule this season was made weaker than usual in order to make sure the 6 freshmen get a lot of playing time before the Big Ten schedule so that OSU has a longer bench, maybe 8-10 players who can contribute instead of 6 or 7. You learn in game situations a lot more than practice even if the competition is somewhat weak.

FL Gulf Coast is a commuter school , not sure they have campus housing. Drive past it all the time when I'm at my condo in FL.

BTW, as far as what I would like to see from this team:
1. Better overall defense, especially on the ball and in post.
2. Rebounding. Luv to see a better mentality as far as crashing the boards hard on both ends.
3. More time for Bench so some frosh can get some PT, such as Thomas, Siebert and I would like to see what Smith is capable of doing.
4. Continue to get better.
5. Win.

Pretty sure they do have dorms. They actually just moved up to D1 probably 3-4 years ago and their coach has Ohio ties, which is how it probably got scheduled.

I hope Matta just continues to have them go hard in practice every single day. They will see better competition in practice than they will during some of these games. With a freshman class, you want to make them go hard every single day and Matta should have that luxury of making practices harder than games, so that games in a sense seem like a day off.

Then when Big 10 play starts up, you start to have the easier practices.

Yea had to check out FGC after seeing them on the schedule. They do have appx. 2000 on campus students out of a total enrollment of 10,500. Still if anybody knows this school in Ft. Myers it is really small-time. I'm really embarrased OSU is playing this level of competition even if they do claim to be D1.

Not sure the history of the school, but I played against them in college and you could tell it was a commuter school, but we did notice a few dorms. They actually have a nice arena and at that time had solid fan support. Not sure what the program is like now, but yes, OSU really has no business playing them.

How long is this schedule talk going to go on? Its yearly. And again, its not just OSU. Look at Duke OCC schedule. Its really no better. I am sure I could find many others top not programs doing the same. But I am not going to take the time to do so.
Hey, I don't like it. But guess what, its the norm and it is what it is. Accept it, deal with it, and move on.

It never is and the dukies don't like AWAY games.

That being said, Matta should be embarrassed by this schedule. He should adopt the Izzo philosophy.

FL Gulf Coast got the piss beat out of them by IU. What OSU will do to them will be criminal. Especially an OSU team in mid december.

i think its funny we have this talk every year.....
then, in a different sport, Alabama is playing a first year football team and the gameday crew is there acting like its a big game.

im really believe its just because we are on an ohio board and there are a lot of people who hate ohio state, and especially when they are really good at something.

I don't find it funny at all, it's ignorant. It gives the whiners something to whine about and they come out in droves. The whiners would prefer to be whining about the team, but there is nothing there to whine about.

After seeing what they did to Florida in Florida, the top six players don't need to play a difficult schedule, they are as good as any other 6 in the country. The easy schedule will serve the purpose Matta is looking for, playing time for Thomas, Siebert, Smith, Weatherspoon.

This doesn't really make much sense to me. Why wouldn't you want to be more prepared at the end of the season? Harder schedules facilitate that. Especially more so in a sport like basketball where you are not crucified (see BCS) when you lose a game. On the contrary actually, you are rewarded for SOS heavily. So at the end of the season when say a UK and OSU are competing for a #1 seed, it would clearly be better to have a good SOS, which OSU will not have.

Actually, they will when the season is over as the Big Ten is head and shoulders going to be better then the SEC.

I think they go undefeated. I want to see Thomas get better on defense and get a better shot selection on offense, he has great potential but its just not there yet. I also want to see the other freshman get time in, although seibert might be the only one that hasn't got much time yet that will contribute in a tourny. Better post defense from guys not named Lauderdale and better rebounding from guys not named sullinger.

So because Duke does it, it's okay? Who gives a shit what Duke does. Their fans can bitch about it if they want. This is about Ohio State, and Ohio State fans are not happy with it.

You do understand the difference in scheduling D1 football games and D1 basketball games right? Apparently not.

Makes NO difference whatsoever when the season ends in a tournament. None.
