The problem is that you're so blinded by your jealousy that you can't see how ridiculous your arguments are
For starters, I hate to break it to you, but Open Enrollment was not initiated to "level the playing field." Like most things that whiners complain about, this has nothing to do with athletics. While it certainly impacts athletics, when this system was put in place, school systems did it to raise money and fill seats due to shrinking populations. Sorry to break it to you, but in the real world of educating kids , football isn't a deciding factor.
And BTW, ask Coldwater if they wish there were separate playoffs. Those kids, and that community would have been robbed of that experience because under achievers like you would rather complain than compete,
You have no clue

First of all, Mooney never had nine D1 recruits, so quit making things up to support your lame argument. Secondly, the year you bring up was the year they lost to a Public School in the finals. By your thinking, the Public School must have done something wrong, because if your successful, you cheat (That's about all you've got)GRAYWOLF;950044 wrote: Can you explain how one year Mooney had 9 d-1 collage players on the same team from a random population of a small town equivalent to the size of mooney.

Anytime anybody makes this absolutely inane argument, they show that they have no clueGRAYWOLF;950044 wrote:I would also like to point out that Private schools can also manipulate there size they can make themselves a D-2 or D-3 or other just by limiting enrollment.

Open enrollment emerged as a means to fill empty seats in a school whereby the fixed costs would have been incurred no matter what. By putting another rear-end in the seat the school picked up the state funding for that kid.GRAYWOLF;950044 wrote:you just proved my argument open enrollment was an attempt to level the playing field.....
Open enrollment did not emerge as some athletic competition solution.

No it did not. But using some twisted logic you can say that the open enrollment schools "RECRUIT" athletes. No proof just conjecture.Con_Alma;950555 wrote:Open enrollment emerged as a means to fill empty seats in a school whereby the fixed costs would have been incurred no matter what. In the early 90s there was much discussion about the economics of public schools and the benefits and negative aspects of open enrollment. There are multiple studies and white papers regarding Ohio Open enrollment. They don't include athletic references.
I have not referenced nor alluded to recruiting athletes as it relates to open enrollment policies at all.
"...Findings based on data from open and closed district surveys, demographic information from Ohio’s Educational Management Informations System (EMIS), a funding gains/losses database developed by Dr. David Ruggles (1997), and an Ohio Legislative Office of Education Oversight report (1998) indicate the primary reason districts decided to be open was that open enrollment provided a source of additional funds. ..."
This is from a study completed by Dr. Richard A. Crepage, Youngstown State University, Department of Educational Administration, Research and Foundations, 1999.

Never said anything about cheating I'm just saying the rules are made to protect the private schools winning tradition. Also why is it anytime someone challenges the private schools concerning the issue they become clueless? Why in other states do they have 2 playoffs for the private and the public's. Are those states clueless also.
It's ok it's a hopeless situation. Until public schools just quit scheduling private schools. You do realize that is what's happening. Also when these private smaller schools schedule up they sometimes get beat. I notice Ursuline is out this year. If that happens for a couple of years kids that play football will not go to that school. If public schools stop playing you, your winning tradition will be broken.

Keep dreaming
You've made plenty of stupid and inaccurate statements on this thread and others over time.
You basically are jealous of every successful program on this side of the state.
You're basically not worth anymore time

Nope not jealous, Why is it now I'm stupid? How did the private schools become so successful? First by winning, and that draws the talent plain and simple. Take the wins away and the talent will go away. Many public schools work just as hard on there programs as the privates but could never draw the talent away from the private schools because you need to win first. OHSAA has favored the private schools for so long with the rules and most public coaches let pride get in the way of the issue. Many schools are finding that they will not see the payoffs if they schedule to many private schools that have a lock on the talented players. This is why private schools are having trouble filling there schedule. OHSAA need to change the rules on the L2 divisor and out of state teams. If they are not going to set up a private only program.
You have no worries OHSAA will not change a thing but good luck filling the schedule. Now you may begin ridiculing my grammer.

If you mean Massillon, it's in the works as we speak, I know you're excited, but just wait a few more days, it'll be here. Btw, I ALWAYS make time to point out how stupid every post from Rain Man is.

These are playoff victories. The playoffs started in 1972
Those numbers reflect results from 1972 on
I would imagine that all of those schools have been in existence since then

Someone forgot to tell Red Lion and Hoban that they had an unfair advantage over Massillon.
