Massillon should probably quit scheduling those tough public schools and stick to playing privates. Maybe they would have made the playoffs this year...

For about the 40th year in a row it'll be a long, cold dark winter for you

If only the OHSAA allowed US to play by the same rules as Money, er, I mean Mooney.

How long are you and the parochial 7 gonna use this joke? Hoban in a down year, and an overrated RL team. On the other hand, someone forgot to tell St. X, St. Ed, Moeller, St Ignatius, Elder, Mooney, Ursuline, St. Johns, Newark Catholic, Benedictine, St V, etc....how level the playing field is, and that they're not supposed to win all the time. Oh, wait, I forgot, they just want it more. There may just come a time, when everyone wakes up and realizes that the titles won during this, "parochial era", are just as skewed, and just as unfair as the ones won pre 1972.

Yeah, and if you guys had worried more about actually beating Ursuline, instead of whining about getting back at them for destroying you last year, maybe you would have won THIS year.

I did have to laugh though at all the, "we should pile it on them and then on side kick it and then score more points on them for what they did to us last year", comments. Hey, maybe you should have concentrated a little more on simply winning the game?

Why should I...as a fan...have focused on simply winning the game instead of piling on? I don't play for the team.

But yes, Mooney should have come out more fired up in that game instead of coming out flat.

However, even with that, Mooney is playing this weekend. Can your team say the same?

No, I can't say the same, but remember, our teams play by a different set of rules.

I'm not a big Northwest fan, but seeing as how the challenge they face this week, (playing a Youngstown All-Star team), I'll be rooting for them.

Northwest kids vs
Campbell, Austintown, Boardman, Struthers, etc kids.

I'll say Youngstown "Area" 41 Northwest 17

GOOD CALL! We should've been more focused on the game. Maybe I shouldn't have went to dinner with my wife and kids before the game I should've been going over the game plan. Those couple of beers prolly didn't help either. Sherm you being in the Natti really hurt our chances of winning. You should have come to town the Sunday before the game and been prepared.

So Sherm no more posting on the site let all the other Mooney guys know we have a game this week. We need to Focus simply on winning.

Oh by the way skank you're a tool for saying something so stupid. By the way UHS didn't qualify for the playoffs, and I wish we got to play by your rules too!

Publics make their own rules. THEY divided themselves into districts. THEY decided they didn't want anyone outside of their districts. THEIR mission is to take all the kids in the district in exchange for taxing everybody who lives there.

Privates have to find ways to pay for everything, because they don't have the power to tax. If you make the rules favorable on the money side, you don't have the right to cry that the rules are unfair because you don't get better results. But cry you do.

Agree with everything you said.

Except that when they realized they didn't want ONLY the kids in their district, they changed the rules and made it so they can take kids from literally anywhere in the state.

You are right about "YOUR" team plays by a different set of rules. Your team gets kids from anywhere in the state for FREE. I wish Mooney, Ursuline, St. X, etc. could pull that one off. And yet you still can't win. Maybe your staff needs to do a better job.

I seem to remember the OHSAA not liking your particular set of rules and giving you a time out

But yet you complain

I guess that makes you a HYPOCRITE

So then....Gloria James somehow came up with approx $8,000 dollars a year, for 4 years? How about the parents of the other inner city kids on that team?

My team, "gets kids from anywhere in the state for free"....As opposed to schools like Mooney, ie, parochial, who give out ""academic"" scholarships, that cost them money?

Maybe Gloria qualified for a voucher since the Akron City Schools met 1 of 18 standards in 1999...

Heck Sherm

Even Massillon got 2 out of 22

Kind of interesting that a kid from Oregon would choose to go there when there are a handful of surrounding school systems rated EXCELLENT
