I agree, although it has nothing to do with down to earth-edness.

Other nominees include Obama, Sarah Palin, Lady Gaga, and the Chilean miners.

Well, Palin is a woman, so she can't be MAN of the Year. Gaga at least pretends to be a woman, so she's also off the list. The miners are a group, so they'd be MEN of the Year. That leaves LeBron and Obama. Both are equally popular on this site, so I think Justin should implement fees to post and tie them in with discounted subscriptions to Time in order to make everyone happy.

Cool, he can join the prestigious list that includes Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin as winners.

I was agreeing with your sarcasm and mentioning that MOY is based on influence over the past year.

It has to be Peyton Hillis or Ben Watson for giving Browns fans around the World falsehope that a Super Bowl win is in the near future.

Those are about as easy as they come to pick for this award. No one comes close to Adolf the year he won.

btw, Im pretty sure it is now "Person of the Year"

You'll have to settle for what's available at Wal-Mart, according to my e-mail I'm up about $758,400 in free gift cards.

What a complete joke of a list. How is Time even credible?

Obama... Fail
Gaga.... Fail
LeBron.... Fail
Palin... Fail
Miners... Win

It should be the miners no contest.

Hmm, perhaps its the news that I watch, but I feel the miners are a bit short sighted and doesn't take into account the entire year. Miners to me seem to be the most recent relevant so it sticks out more in people's mind, much like Palin. I mean they were under ground for two months, I wish it was something more along the lines of people shaping history etc... Like noted though, who gives a shit, the list is a joke and as relevant as the ESPYs (lolfail).

Obama did get the healthcare passed. That has some pretty big consequences to the world.

Im not sure I could ever put an athlete or entertainer on the list unless it was for something that went beyond their profession. In this case, it wouldnt be with LeBron or Gaga.

but thats the point. Good or bad, it will be big impacts. That is all Time goes for. They dont care if its good or bad...thus Hitler being the Time Man of the Year in the past. What he did was awful, but the results were felt globally.
