263 pounds for a DE? Seems huge for a freshman.

Ethan Johnson is listed at 285, Kelly said he was a few pounds heavier than that. Kap is listed at 283 so I'd assume Schwenke will continue to put on weight as he matures and develops.

When did Oregon join the SEC?

That's my fault. I know better than to stoop to the level of these douchers. But I'm just tired of it. The worst part is...they don't even have any new material. It's always the same dumb shit. If they were at least clever...or had something new to say...I probably wouldn't mind them as much.

How far has the ND program fallen when the Northwestern vs ILL game at Wrigley Field is gettiing way more attention than Irish vs Army at Yankee Stadium? I feel bad for the Cadets, they deserve better after the season they have had so far.

What do you mean by attention?

Are speaking about attention on this board?

No. I mean national attention. Gameday will be in Chicago, last night I saw a 5 min. Fox report on the last football game played at Wrigley, ESPN is talking up the NW vs ILL match-up as one of the best games of the weekend (granted a slow week in CFB). But ND vs Army?...nada, zip, zero, cue the crickets.

Ah, national attention. They haven't received it all year I don't know why this week would be any different or why it would be surprising that the Ill NW game would be getting more.

I know the USMA hasn't had a good season since 1996 so simply cracking .500 doesn't command some national spotlight simply because the are playing their annual game against the fighting Irish in the new Yankee Stadium.

In fact, I would have been surprised if the national media was all over this Army ND game. It's not going to be that great of a match up but that's just me.

Well considering NDs best win in the past 20 years could be over a MWC team(with 2 losses), and Army isn't expected to compete in the National picture, its no surprise. I'd rather watch NW v ILL any day over watching mediocrity take its course.

I agree. The coverage is exactly what it should be.

I don't understand his point.

Why would ESPN make the game of the week an NBC game? Why would they talk about a game which would take away from ABC's ratings? Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

Notre Dame has very rarely been a big deal on ESPN. ESPN loves to jump on the "the sky is falling is South Bend" when they can, to promote this false sense that the program is a train wreck. It is really just bad journalism on their part in my opinion.

You can bet your ass that the USC game will be nationally televised by ESPN.

So far USC/ND has been picked up by ABC, but it hasn't been determined whether it will be regional or national.

EDIT: Just looked at the slate of games for next Saturday, the other 8 PM game ABC will air is Oklahoma/Oklahoma State. My guess Big XII country will get that game and the rest of the country will get USC/ND.

Yea I remember my great-grandpa telling stories about the last time ND vs Army meant anything. President Grover Cleveland tossed the coin.

Right, because going 6-6 every year and losing their bowl game(when they accept it) isn't a train wreck. It's a sad day in South Bend when ND fans are content with being a top 60 program.

Yeah, it was a pic of Yankee Stadium lit up. It was a twitpic and for whatever reason those don't keep the same link after a while.

Ishaq Williams will be at the game. Would obviously be a HUGE get. Not sure if coaches can talk to recruits that are at this game or not.
