Dingey Harry was like 20 points down to a generic nominee to start the year. Anyone with a pulse should have beaten him. Angle was just so out there that she grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory and it is frustrating to see him marching back to the Senate like he deserves it.

Now the big question....will Harry Reid remain Senate Majority Leader?

You cannot be against mining safety regulations and not be insane. When there are stockholders or a profit motive/incentive it's too easy to throw safety out the door. Sometimes regulations from outside the town/business/industry are needed.

So now Rand Paul is ok with miners being killed in cave ins. Rand Paul is not against regulation. He just prefers it be governed by those closest to the issue. How is that insane? Just because someone advocates a different level of governance does not make them insane. The federal government does not have a perfect tract record either when it comes to regulation of industry. How in the world did Charley Rangle manage to retain his seat? Is it ingrained in New Yorkers DNA that corruption and general disregard for the rule of law is OK that this guy is re-elected even after all the stuff that has come out about him?

Just got in from work and I must say I'm not surprised by what I've seen all over the country. This had been predicted by many in the media for some time.

Congratulations to all who won seats tonight. Now the hard part begins. This Congress is going to be responsible for making the difficult decisions that will shape the direction of the country. Those in the House have only 2 years to show results or they are out next time. The Senators get a little longer but they, too, need to step up and do their duty.

Regardless of all our beliefs/stances on the issues, it is important that we get involved and make ALL elected officials accountable. They are our public servants (got that, Belly?) and they are elected to serve and to govern. Let's hope they realize this and do just that.

Hard to believe but true. If Schumer is selected as Senate Majority Leader (or Durbin for that matter) Reid is going to look like a conservative in comparison.

FWIW MSNBC was unbearable last night. At least Fox didn't have Hannity, Beck and O'Reilly up there all night. That's essentially what MSNBC did with all of their talking heads.
