This is from a 1920's Charlie Chaplin film and it shows a lady who appears to be talking on a cell phone.

Thoughts?

My initial thought is....wouldn't you need a cell phone tower to talk on a cell phone?

I heard this on Coast to Coast AM the other night and basically laughed it off. Now Yahoo had it on it's front page. The video is very interesting and that is what is appears to be, talking on a cell phone.

Did you watch the video? It certainly appears she is talking into whatever she is holding. I am not saying it's a cell phone but it is certainly a pretty interesting piece of film.

I read it was a hearing aid device. They listed the model that was popular at that time and said it fit the description of the device she was holding.

It's interesting to say the least. The video looks doctored though. When you see movie and games from that time period, they look different. The people move faster, and the picture itself isn't as clear. That was the thing that stuck out to me; like it was made now, but cameras now can make it look old.
