I like Boston's trade. Here is why. Everyone talk about all the bigs they had and how the trade reduces it. Last I check, only one center is really on the floor at the same time. Sooner or later both Shaq and Jermaine O'Neal is going to be back with the team. It's hard to share minutes with 3 productive centers. Boston is known to sacrifice in the regular season to get healthy for the playoffs. Shaq is not a bench player in my opinion. On a team like Boston, you want a player that can provide a spark off the bench. I don't think Shaq is that type of player. He is the type I think is better when playing along other starters. Now Shaq will have the starting position back, which will move Jermaine O'Neal to the backup center. Jermaine O'Neal is a spark. He is a good shot blocker, rebounder, and still knows how to put the ball into the hoop. This 1-2 punch works perfectly in my opinion. Shaq and Perkins are too much of the same players, only shaq is taller, and has a little bit more of a offensive game.
I don't think Nate Robinson really fits the style of the Boston Celtics. He is a shoot first type of guy who can get too out of control. Him being trade with Perkins opens up more playing for Delonte West, who can play both the point and 2-guard. And remember Marquis Daniels will be back soon. Nate probably would have been left out of the rotation anyways. And one thing the Celtics never really had in the past is a backup small forward. They have had backup point guards and shooting guards, rarely small forwards. They now get that in Jeff Green a former lottery pick. Just look at the depth the Celtics have 1-5......
Rondo, West
Allen, Daniels
Pierce, Green
Garnett, Davis
O'Neal, O'Neal
I think the chemistry of the Celtics, which was already great, is better. Because each guy knows his role. Which is why I like this trade.

Okay first off, I AM PISSED!!!! Danny Ainge is a fucking moron plain and simple! WHY the hell would you trade away your biggest advantage you have over all but maybe 2 teams in the NBA and mainly the biggest advantage over Miami... getting rid of Perk, Semih & Gody when both O'Neal's are injured is inexcusable!! Seriously I am frustrated w/ Danny Ainge right now... But Ainge is on the phone w/ the NBA b/c Possibly the money may not match up w/ the trade with OKC and the NBA may not let go through.... I really hope it don't!

All these other "stars" (Bosh,Lebron)(Amare,Melo) teaming up have not won jack and are chasing Rings.
It took Kobe teaming up with another Star to win his titles though, Shaq came in and he won 3, Gasol came in and won 2.
And all these other stars teaming up havent even played a full s eason together, so duh they havent won jack

Yeah I dont understand this deal at all. Banking too much on injured players. Who is going to be the back up PG now? Delonte?osu45804;690596 wrote:Okay first off, I AM PISSED!!!! Delonte-Wafer-Green-Big Baby-Shaq/JO/Nenad....Is that the 2nd string? They better hope Rasheed really does want to come back and they can get a decent big man after he gets bought out.
Couldnt they have made this deal next year(trading away Perkins)? They are gambling too much with this deal.John Hollinger writes that he believes the Celtics did this to make a run at Howard

Haven't you heard....the NBA is changing it's name to the "AAU League" because that's what it's heading toward?

Double Standard for Kobe.
Its okay for him to team up and win titles, anybody else does it and theyre ring chasing(aka the goal of every player every single year, to win a ring)

Not really. LA traded FOR Gasol. Kobe & Gasol didn't collude (ala Bosh, Wade & Lebron) to join forces with a superstar on another team.

These guys weren't cornerstone "franchise type" players (Lebron James) when they chased their rings. Lebron James shouldn't have had to go join another star.

Laker fans are delusional. I stopped discussing real basketball because every time your criticize Kobe and the Lakers you hear about rings like they are relevant. Robert Horry, case closed.

I can't agree with you more dude. Look at the Celtics in Game 7 of the Finals. No Perkins and the Lakers RAPED them on the glass. No sense at all. I can't see Dwight going to Boston. If he leaves, we all know where he's going...osu45804;690596 wrote:Okay first off, I AM PISSED!!!! Danny Ainge is a fucking moron plain and simple! Come on dude, Bosh and LeBron were traded because they wanted more money, who can blame them.
I really don't give a damn what the other teams in the NBA do, ethical or not. I'm a Laker fan, I worry about my team and my team only. Do I think it's BS that these young players are basically holding their teams hostage? I do.

So then next year if Howard holds his team hostage because he wants traded to LA will you say that about him? Doubtful.

Howard isnt going to Boston.
The Magic are going to make a hard run at CP3 to see if they can keep him in Orlando. If they dont get Paul hes heading to LA

I don't think Howard would play around though like Melo, LeBron and Bosh did. It'd be different if these dudes were straight up and said "Look. I'm not coming back, so let's work something out so you guys don't get fucked".

It's exactly what Melo did.
Melo told the Nuggs early this year(I believe) that he would not be resigning in Denver. It was up to them to get something for him or to wait til the off season and get NOTHING. They made the "right" move.

Rings are not relevent to you because your supposed "goat" player does not have any. So what, Robert Horry has a lot of rings. 12-15 players on NBA Championship teams ALL get rings, 53+ NFL Super Bowl team members ALL get Rings, thats how it works. But everyone knows who the MAIN players are and the MAIN reasons for the Rings, you just do not want to reconize that fact because your guy has ZERO.sleeper;690765 wrote:Bosh and Lebron were also traded.
