I disagree with that to a certain extent. NBA arenas definitely do not compare to the college atmosphere, but some arenas definitely get rocking.

Miami fans won't ever be a part of the "World's Best Fans" list. Not sure how this is news.
On the other hand, people are buying tickets. They are just choosing not to attend the games. I'm sure Heat management is more than fine with that. It goes back to the point that there is so much going on down there. People have too many choices on how they are going to spend their evenings. I'm guessing the thought of watching the Sacramento Kings stumble through 4 qrts of basketball wasn't attractive to a lot of people

Have you ever been to South Beach? It's a little different than Cleveland.... haha

"HAHA" yeah I have. I have also been to locations 100x better than south beach. If i lived in those locations and had the choice between watching my team/super stars, or doing the same thing i could do the rest of the week, i think i would choose to watch my team and the superstars. Fact of the matter is, you can't go to the beach at night, and the clubs and other regular activities will ALWAYS be there. The NBA season and a great team will not always be there.

Ok, after reading your response, I know for a fact that you haven't been to South Beach. Regular season games are largely meaningless. They'll stop partying and clubbing when the postseason arrives

So, you don't believe I have been to south beach, because I am logical. 1. Yes I have, and 2. you are from Ohio, don't try and act like you are an expert on South Beach, because you went there for SB one time lmao. Also there is a big difference between living there and going there for a vacation. Nice fail once again.
My logic doesn't just apply to south beach, it applies to other desirable cities. You can apply the same logic to vegas. As I have said before, I have been to places that are 100x better than south beach as well. Nice fail.
Edit: Also to your comment about the fans showing up to the postseason, I have seen their arena with many empty seats during the post season as well. You should know that though since you are such an expert on the area.

They couldn't even sell out their arena during the finals a few years back, yet the cavs are selling out when the Timberwolves/Kings/Pacers come into town. SMH.

I'm sorry but this argument it weak. There are plenty of things to do in Chicago and yet plenty of people pack that arena to watch the Bulls. Plenty of things to do in NY and I can promise you that the Garden will be filled to capacity from this point forward. You can go surfing and Mountain climbing in the same day out in LA, Lakers still bring in big crowds. Some of the people on this site act as if Miami is the ONLY city in the country with a night life. The fans dont show up because Miami is a transient city and those fans that are actually from Miami just dont care. Are we supposed to believe that every Heat fan is too busy "clubbing" to take in a basketball game? Gimme a break

I do understand what you are saying KR, but when you compare Chicago, New York, and LA to Miami, you have to factor in the population of those cities. Miami has around 500,000 people. Of the 3 others, Chicago is the smallest with almost 3 million.
And before you come back with the Cleveland argument, Cleveland has roughly the same population as Miami.

I understand that. I'm just not buying the "so much to do argument". Jordo made a comment that they will stop "clubbin and partying when the playoffs start" Are we really supposed to believe that the only reason Heat fans dont show up is because they are out partying? So the only people that attend bball games down there are 25 yr old douchebags that go to clubs 5 days a week? There are plenty of nice bars in downtown Columbus, the Shoe still sells out every Saturday. I just think that argument is weak. Miami fans suck, they dont care, thats why they dont attend games.

Yeah I don't think the plethora of things to do in Miami is the main reason for crowds not showing up, but it is possible it plays a part in it. As its been said many times, unless its a Florida or Florida State football game, Florida sports fans are largely uninterested. The Rays were the best team in the AL for most of the year last year and had to give away 20,000 free tickets to fill the Trop for a game.

You actually think a crowd drives an NBA game??? I've been to some games at the Q that were loud... But not crowd noise loud. Like when the opposing team has the ball, there's no yelling or loud noise. It's rap music.
It does change some in the playoffs. But it's still nothing like a college game.

Thats the thing I hate the most about the NBA. The stupid arena music that they always play. I wish they would just let the crowd dictate the sounds of the game, not playing stupid chants like "De-fense, De-fense" or stupid slot machine noises when someone makes a free throw or something.

Eh some of the stuff is pretty good. I'm a fan of the Q playing the first few notes of The Godfather Waltz when Mo Williams hits a 3.

People who think crowds don't get loud in the NBA are insane.
Anyone watch a Lakers/Kings game from 2000-2004? Arco Arena? That place was INSANE. Now it's Utah and OKC that get rowdy.
