Serious question and maybe I have the wrong person, but aren't you an attorney or something? You put in a lot of work and spent a lot of money to get the job you have. My cousin, who is just some chump working a union job that happens to be really smart but was always unmotivated, represented himself in court and beat the county prosecutor. Does that prove that he should just be handed a law degree?

Same principle. You gotta earn your way regardless of what you might be able to put together one time. That one win (and in Boise's case, it is one really good win that you wouldn't give two shits about if it were anyone else) doesn't give you a bitch point to try and be something you aren't. You do your job every single day.

You can talk about the NCAA tournament all day long, but that isn't what college football has. You get two teams and you can't afford to give out a free pass. The fact that Butler is such a shining example and it has happened one time in 30 or more years just highlights how little being the engine that could really means.

I personally take issue with you saying they "deserve" a shot, because let's be honest Danny, they don't.

Hypothetically, just to illustrate...Team A plays "Sisters of the Poor" 12 games and goes 12-0. Team B plays "BCS Juggernauts" 12 games and goes 11-1.

By your logic, Team A deserves the shot to play against whomever?

I just don't buy that shit.

Boise said no to Nebraska when Nebraska was offering a 3 game series(I believe) with 1 of the games being a neutral site.

Or maybe it was a 2 game series. One in Lincoln and one at a neutral site.

I know Boise will never play in a championship unless they join a BCS conference and still win games like they are right now, not arguing that point.

Boise should go independent and schedule tougher games absolutely....but will they still be looked upon as a lesser team?

Why let them play in a BCS bowl game, and leave out a team that has played a harder schedule?

I am being serious. If those teams perform well, then by defeating those teams, Boise and TCU climb higher in the BCS. And "we" didn't let them do anything, they earned their BCS bowl bid by where they finished. You and others don't like the bowl they played in nor their opponent, they didn't either but they got paid.

It just sounds kind of hipocritical by saying they don't play a hard schedule and don't deserve to be up there with the "big boys" so and so is a better team etc etc....then why let them play in a BCS bowl game if they are so called "not as good as those other teams". Just sounds hipocritical. Either they deserve it or not...

It's not hypocritical, it's fact.

If you and your defeated opponents perform well, you'll be ranked highly. But if another team has equal success and their defeated opponents are better than your defeated opponents you won't finish ahead of them and you don't go to the ship.

So if they schedule one more real football game against a big time opponent....in addition to the two that they have played, would they be #1 then? I doubt it, because then the argument will be well they only play three really tough games this year.


Ohio State plays a tougher schedule than Boise, why aren't they ranked higher?

The point is their is too much controversy with this system and we never truely know who the #1 team is at the end of the season. It's just stupid.

I see bama playing for the BCS natl championship.
auburn will lose to bama, oregon will lose to either usc or oregon st.
tcu may not lose but bama will jump them, and mich st. will lose.

If college basketball only picked two teams after the regular season to play in the championship game, Butler would not have been one of them. Butler earmed their way to the championship by beating top teams in the tournament. They didn't earn their way to the championship by beating the YSU and the other Horizon League teams.

I guess people love stupidity then because there's a lot of bitching, but everybody's still watching.

From your screen name, I'll assume you play/played HS football. Do you have a problem with the way the Ohio rating system works? While there are more teams who make the playoffs obviously, those teams are determined by simple math in which you get points for winning and points when your opponents win. My high school was left out of the playoffs at 9-1 one year while multiple 5-5 teams have made it in our region. Was that unfair?

If Boise and like schools feel they aren't getting their due, why don't they band together and create their own little playoff system? You know why, right? They're much more interested in the money they can make off the big dogs while still portraying themselves as the little guy who can't get any respect. It is win-win for them when the public buys the nonsense.
