Do you see the irony in this . The kids that go to this school must pass an entrance exam and this school is entirly pro academics . Now I say let them participate in the state playoffs. Catholic schools mask people who come to thyre school just for football all, the time especially in Ohio but Wheeling Central gets kids all over . The hypocracy and double standards are overwhelming. We need two playoff systems or we need to allow an open recruitment policy for publics as well . dont you guys think that if Massillon had to play by the same rules as Mooney ,they would be winning titles like Iggy does . everybody rips them for not winning it on the field but they are under a huge microscope and when they do do something wrong it is brought to everybodies attention. they might get a few kids in from other districts but it like public knowledge . Those certain private schools that we all love get many ,many kids from all over for football . They have a free licsense to recruit . Publics dont. We attack each other . We need to pull together and attaqck the real problem and that is the private schools .
Massillon's last two prominent quarterbacks: Justin Zwick (transferred from Orrville) and Kyle Kempt (transferred from
Oregon). Name the last Catholic school to get a kid from more than one state over.
By the way, if you want to talk about open enrollment, take a look at Brookhaven's 2004 state championship team. They basically raided the entire Columbus City League to put together an all-star team, yet no one calls them on it. Let's talk about Glenville getting a fresh crop of kids year in and year out from Benedictine, Ignatius, St. Ed's, and University School...all going to pursue the rigorous academics at the powerhouse that is Glenville.
