Got mine out about five years ago while I was still under my parents' insurance. Didn't feel anything during the procedure as I was on the nitrous oxide (but not knocked out). I was definitely high at the time and the dentist was having a ball making fun of that fact. The noise and the image of my teeth being yanked out reminded me of being in a horror film with a sicko dentist.

I was on pain meds right away so I never really felt that bad, but they made me nauseous so I had to switch to the OTC variety.

I've spoken with multiple women in our clinic who have said that they'd rather give birth than have a toothache. Basically the only thing a tooth can feel is pain, I'd say it's very real.
