Not sure if he wants to play by the NFL rules. Tomlin gave him the day off of practice.

cant say i blame him....how can you play when you have to be worried you will be suspended for playing the same way you have played your whole life....trying to tackle someone gently is going to most likely result in you yourself getting hurt or missing the tackle alltogether.

This is ridiculous. He's not retiring. Although I agree with some of his comments, retirement isn't the answer. So he's going to walk away from all that money in spite?

I read this and this is ridiculous. James Harrison needs to sack up and quit being a baby. All the crying he is doing about "I'm not sure if my game fits this League" and "skipping practice to mull retirement" is an absolute joke. If you're suppose to be one of the best players in the League, then you can adapt. MAN UP and quit crying. His crying is every bit as pansy-ish as those who whine about the League softening up. Shut up and play.

I dont get this complaining shit. The best tackles and most sure tackles are the wrap up ones. The big hits are bigger when landed, but result in misses more than anything else. Its bad football, so instead of retiring, just learn to play the game the right way.

He was sent home so he wouldn't say anything to the media to get him in further trouble. This is just another way for Goodell( steelerhater ) to hamstring the Steelers.

Maybe someone in the past 20 years should have taught him to tackle instead of spear to the head?!?!?! Harrison should shut up, quit the cheap head shots and play football.

+1

He's earning millions...maybe he could learn to tackle. If not, he could always go the UFC route. Oh wait....he might have to take a hit rather than just dish it out.

He isn't going to retire. He is just trying to make a point, and he is doing it in an 8 year old cry baby manner. As soon as he is done crying from his "time out," he will realize he is an idiot and he is not going to give up millions. He just lost 75k, he has to earn it back.

He'll keep playing and he'll be fucking up opposing players again in no time. I don't blame him for wanting to hurt but not injure opposing players. It's pro fucking football with grown ass men playing. You should want your opponent to fear you and feel the pain more each play.

Do your best to avoid head shots and keep hammerin' 'em, James. Then they'll have to fine you for "hitting too hard."

Harrison is one bad hombre.

Yeah, because defensive players NEVER get hit.

Just further shows how big of pussies/pre-madonnas the steelers are...If you can't play the game right, don't play it at all. Harrison is a bitch, just like big ben, just like heinz ward, just like that entire franchise

Come on, man. Those "pussies" just beat your team by 18 and that "bitch" slept 2 of your players.

Play the right way??? So TJ Ward shouldn't play either?

That post by Durkie MUST have been to fuck with you because there's no way that he actually believes what he types sometimes.

I think the same can be said for you, Art.

TJ Ward isnt crying or "considerring" retirement. I'm not gonna take a shot at Harrison, the guy is a heck of a player. This is a joke though.....its like a little kid taking his ball and going home because the neighbors arent playing the way he wants to play. Harrison needs to suck it up. It shouldnt be THAT hard to see what you hit and wrap it up rather than launching yourself head first at an opponent.

Injure: to inflict bodily hurt on

Hurt: to inflict with physical pain
