They both play themselves in every film.

Most of their films bomb.

Yet, they still get lead actor/actress roles.

Most of their films bomb? According to what? Reviews? Putting Michael Cera or Katherine Heigl in your shitty movie probably can double your box office returns. So what should we care if they keep getting roles in shitty movies? If you don't like them, then you don't want them in the good movies that you're going to see, right?

Also, for the record I happen to like Knocked Up, and Michael Cera is amazing in Arrested Development.

Smoking with Cera would go two ways. He would either pass the fuck out because he seems so mellow or he would just ramble on and on and on until you physically had to shut him up!!

I like most of Michael Cera stuff. He was in Arrested Development and Superbad so he is automatically awesome from that and I thought Juno was pretty good as well.

I'm not sure what you're basing "bombing" on. Year One made $62 million. Scott Pilgrim $42 million and counting, adding in DVD sales and other bullshit, both films will have made double what their budgets were. Again, not saying either is critically acclaimed, but that doesn't mean they bombed.

Give me a break Mooney, even Cera fanboys admit that Pilgrim did a lot worse than expected.

Perhaps if Cera could do anything other than play the same one note dork, he'd do better. He could learn something with Jesse Eisenberg, who actually does a similar act, yet has some range and does better films (Squid and the Whale, Adventureland, Zombieland, Social Network).

Are you related to Cera?

Manhatten, Scott Pilgrim is going to be a cult film for a good while.

Not a big fan of Cera though as he does seem to play extremely similar roles in everything he does. Although a lot of people who are in comedies do that.

I am a fan of Eisenberg's though. Love most of his films.

The last time I saw a movie with Heigl in it, I didn't watch it. Not because it was bad, but because I went and saw it with a girl and fooled around the whole time. Therefore I would like to thank Katherin Heigl for that. She gets a pass for being an enabler.

Saw Juno and couldn't even cop a feel. Thanks for nothing Cera.

If Michael Cera plays himself in every film then how many times can one person lose their virginity? I mean come on, I have a hard time believing him as a fifteen year old coming-of-age any more since he's been playing that role for five years now.

I loved Superbad but that movie was also what, three years ago? And everything he's been in since has sucked (Note: I haven't seen Arrested Development so maybe that is good)...but 'Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist' and 'Year One' belong over on the worst movie thread.

Knocked Up was funny, but because it had Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd, NOT HEIGEL. She can be good eye candy, but she plays the annoying, nagging cunt role very well.
When I saw previews for her new movie a few weeks ago, I wondered what the difference was between that and Knocked Up. My girlfriend clarified that this time they "inherit" the baby somehow, instead of being accidentally knocked up with it. Same shit different toilet.

I give the award to Cera, only because he's made more shitty movies these past few years.

have no problem with Cera...
I'm guessing those "bombs" he has been in have padded the bank account pretty nicely.

Superbad, alone, he gets a little cred.
and, does anyone go to a Katherine Heigle film to see her dramatic acting chops?

it's kind of like going to an adult comedy or a feel-good romantic comedy, then complaining that it's not Shakespeare, as portrayed by Olivier.

or clicking on a thread expecting humorous give-and-take, and instead finding Manhattan Buckeye drivel.
