Once while playing BlkJk at Venetian I split 10s when the dealer showed 4, I know this is a big no-no but had been on a good run that night and thought what the hell...I was in for 50 so throw another 50 down. The split goes 10 / 10 again and I split 'em again. Once again she hits me with two more 10s, so I just had to do it. Unbelievably its two more 10s and everyone at the table is going crazy. I stand at this point and she flips over a Q, draws A, draws 9 - BUST and I pocket another $150. Will never forget that.

We used to have a weekly game here at school that I was kicked out of because one night I had 3 bad beats on three consecutive hands... got dealt pocket rockets and then hit two aces on the turn, then got dealt pocket tens and hit a 10KK on the flop, and then i river ratted someone cuz I played like a 9-7 or something dumb.

They said I can't play anymore. Ever.

Anyone who says poker isn't a skill game doesn't know stats or the math behind the game. The hand where you pointed out 4-5 has an equal chance to hit a pair as a k-j is correct but 1) You shouldn't be all in with a K-J unless your low on chips 2) The K-J still has a 60-40 advantage 3) playing a 4-5 can be a good strategy in poker if you know like to play lots of small pots and then can get a big pot when you hit your 4-5 or you are good at reading people. I suggest you read Harrington on Hold em if you want to do better on your trips to Vegas and AC. The book will explain to you the math behind the game and the implied odds. I know sometimes people make bad plays and put bad beats on people and I am usually very quick to get over it I personally get more mad at myself when I make a bad read or a misplay. If I lose going in with the best hand yeah that sucks but over time if I make the right decisions I will win. I have been playing since i turned 18 and have won tournaments online with more then 4000 people involved and have lost 5 dollar buy in against friends who have no idea how to play. So yes luck is involved but in the long run a player making good decisions will be a winning player and someone who dishes a lucky bad beat on someone will be a losing player. This is why the same guys make final tables and win bracelets at the WSOP every year and win millions online.
