Reds will hopefully decline his option which would cost $1m. It's $4m to bring him back. Janish is his equal offensively but far, far superior defensively.

I'll give you that. But McCutchen is still cheap, so there's no way they'll get rid of him now. If this was 2014 when he's potentially close to breaking the bank (if he continues to improve), I wouldn't be surprised...but when they have him under lock-and-key cheap, I can't see it.
If Cincy wants "help" or something, we'll give 'em Ronnie Cedeno for a mid-level prospect or something to give them more SS depth.
