Bears Win GOLD .....Defeating Seneca East, New London, Padua, Boardman and Crestview. Final dual came down to the last 3 Bears (140 pin, 145 pin and 152 major?) needing huge vicories. All contributed to a very successful day. Zeb Beam won upper weight MVP.

Some really good matches by the bears yesterday. Beam, the Nelson's, b.Stanley, and Harter all with some good wins over tough opponents. Jared Orr strapped it on big time against crestview to pull off a bears win. And the youngsters in the lineup showed good promise . Lots of work yet to do though.

Where's all the "chatter"? Its wrestling season folks

Area wrestlers looked good yesterday at the Ashland Bookmasters Invitational. Grier wrestled 130??? Will he be remaining there all year? He looked pretty big out there... Also had no problem at all winning the tournament. Looked real tough

The Waynedale kids impressed me yesterday. The team chemistry and work ethic has been the best. This is truly a team from top to bottom! New kids , seasoned kids , every kid contributed equally in what I would say was un upset in the finals against Crestview.

Absolutely falcon. It was awesome to see every kid supporting the their teammates. You can tell those boys really get along and roll off each others intensity

Congrats to WD on the title. The Ashland paper pretty much said Crestview was loaded and was returning 5 state qualifiers. Nice way to start the season.

Huskies looked alright, not great. Schaefer rolled as usual. Four runner-ups (Hershey,Dupont,Black,Fortune), a couple thirds and a couple fourths. Topp didn't wrestle and the young guys looked, well, young.
Glad its only December, the Huskies are gonna need the time to mature if they're gonna have any chance of reclaiming the WCAL title.

I did see that Field won the Hillsdale Tourney!! Looks like it was a good tournament. I had a late minute work call and couldn't make it.

Good Luck to all wrestlers!!

Bears took some bumps this weekend. Definately exposed some areas we need to work on. Young guys seeing some things to work on as well as the seasoned fellas. We have a long way to go to get to where we need to be.

All in all, a nice weekend for many area wrestlers. Bears are at Triway Weds night with West Holmes also there. Should be a good night of wrestling.

WIT brackets posted. I don't see Triway repeating. No Grier as previously stated. I don't know the out of county teams very well (mogadore, new philly, coshocton), but I'm wondering were the marquee match ups are.

WIT has lost alot of luster. I see West Holmes, Norwayne, Coshocton, New Philly top 4. This just dont seem to be the nutbuster it was in the 80's. Still a nice tournament, I wish the Bears were there.

Will Waynedale revenge their upset to Tuslaw at sectionals last year...........?? You reap what you sow..... Could get ugly, very ugly. Expect a major golden shower.

Every match counts in this one.

Did Waynedale get their two upper weight kids healthy yet?

Where is this dual at? How could this one get very ugly? Reap what you sow? Anyone care to elaborate?

It is at Waynedale. I believe that both kids missing from the W.H. dual will be in the line up. So Waynedale should have a full lineup.

Oh Wiseowl, those that know ..know why and that is all that needs known. Come tomorrow and you will know. Its going to get loud! The Ponies will probably leave some kids at home. I'll wager they don't send out a 119 and a 145! Any takers?? Sad really.

A wise old owl sat on an oak; The more he saw the less he spoke; The less he spoke the more he heard; Why aren't we like that wise old bird ?
