TKS Falcon. We have a lot of work to do. Everyone is out to get us so tighten your belt and start worken out. Only the tough win and only winners know its time to work harder.

Falcon, has the beast introduced you to the infamous yellow jello?

Beast, with all due respect to Berry, he's not a state qualifier. You're comparison doesn't hold water...and I think we've been over this. His Dad was a Husky, his uncle was a great Husky wrestler, and the family moved back to their home. Please take your yellow creek bed dirt and bury this issue then run it over with your mower just to be sure.

Warmest regards and looking forward to seeing you all very soon.

Beast also forgets to mention that Adam Kelley, who was a state placer, was born of Husky blood. Things are not as one sided as the master propagandist would have everyone believe. We always seem destined to beat same dead horses every year and it appears this year is no exception.

I now open the floor to opinions on "Forfeitgate" (just kiddin'). It's gonna be a wild season. Lets open the year with an under or over on how many WCAL grapplers qualify for state.

the number is 9....under or over?....................I'm going with "over"......any other opinions?

Very curious what is the most wayne county State Qualifiers in a year? I will definitely take the over 9 bet this year. The only Horse I want to beat is a blue Pony! LOL ! Not really......Well maybe although its pretty beaten and on its last leg, we should play nice with it......Mercy rule!

barring injury & misfortune, Waynedale and Northwestern should cover at least 8 by themselves, hopefully more, throw in Hall, Grier and a few guys with breakout seasons and the number could be 13 or 14. I may be reaching here but hey, its still October and everyone is unbeaten.

Harter, Nelson, Nelson, Stanley, Beam, Hershey, Fortune, Sheaffer, Grier, Hall? A few more Iam sure have a shot but I don't now the league very well. Our over stacked district is keeping a few from making it that should be there while others from other districts squeak out that should not. The over 9 is still a good bet.

I forgot about Harter, I had your list along with Tyler Topp, returning state qualifier. As far as the darkhorse guys having breakout seasons, I was thinking D. Burge (Nor), Kelbly, Hostettler & Hilty (SMV), at least 2 guys each from Chippewa & Hillsdale whos names are eluding me.

Every year I start out predicting the Cleveland Indians will go 162-0. I then adjust accordingly. I pretty much feel the same about WCAL wrestling. Guess you could call me an Over-optimist.

Realistically, with injuries, skin conditions, bad luck, a tough sectional, and a meatgrinder district........7 to 10 is about the number range the WCAL will send to Columbus.

It will be very interesting to see how the light to middle weights pan out. You could see 119/125 super stacked and one or the other. These are going to be two nightmare weights at the Maple heights district.

Don't hold me to it, but I think its some kind of coaches association event. Thats a good question for Beast. He probably knows, if not I'm sure Coach Louie would know.
I also think the pairings were somewhat random.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. When you get some answers, please let me know. I'm just a big fan, not an insider.

Ted Tonn from Ashland Cresview runs it. He'd be a good place to start.

So I heard The Bears have had a good 2 days of practice....I know they put in alot of offseason work......If we can get the right kids at the right weights....might just be ok. Could be a descent year for the Bears. This fan is excited to see the Team grow and mesh.

What is everyone elses thoughts? Good practice??? Good numbers??? It WRESTLING season baby....get this thread kick started!!!

For those that already dont know...The Ohio State Buckeyes are going to be wrestling at West Holmes High School in January.... vs Michigan State...if tickets are still available, you can get them through ticketmaster.
