100% agree. That was uncalled for.

I understand your point but very different situations. Up 25 in the fourth quarter against a one-win Minnesota team vs. up 7 against a pretty good USC team.like_that;516479 wrote:A lot of people made Jim Harbaugh out to be a hero when he went for 2 vs USC last season (28-21 score). Granted, Pete Carrol probably deserved it, but it's funny how the same situation is judged differently depending on the teams and coaches.

You're spinning the Hayes thing a little bit here. Woody's quote when asked about why he went for two following the game was "Because we couldn't go for three." People (fans of the Buckeyes) loved that, because it was what (at least a part of it) made the OSU/Mich. rivalry what it is today. Not because he went for two against some team like Minnesota in this case. I know you have an axe to grind against OSU or their fans at least, but there needs to be a little perspective in this case.like_that;516479 wrote: Woody Hayes went for 2 vs Michigan and everyone seems to love him for it.
I think people should get their panties out of a bunch. How about stopping the team from scoring?

Going for two here was pretty uncalled for. Fact.
Bitter? About a game between Wiscy and Minny? Not me bro. Though I agree about perception being reality to any number of groups, sociology 101.like_that;516629 wrote:You are still pretty bitter about that I see. Try taking your own advice and put things into perspective. The purpose of my post wasn't to fluster you OSU fans, in fact I love the Woody Hayes quote. Harbaugh and Hayes came to mind immediately, because one was the most recent unnecessary 2 pt conversion attempt that I could think of and the other is the most popular, because of Woody's quote. My original point (as seen in my first post) is that the same situation is judged differently depending on the teams and coaches involved, which you made my point by discussing the OSU/Mich rivalry.
I also agree with this. Brewster needs to take it into the locker room and build off it if he feels strongly about it. He needs to internalize this and use it as motivation instead of appearing as a crybaby publicly in my opinion. The more I think about it, Brewster gets the bigger "C'mon Man!" than Bielema

I would not go for two. There was no reason that I know of to do that. (I could see doing it if the team had previously tried to run the score up on you, but I don't think that's the case here.)

.
Though it was obviously a dick move and the "the card said so" excuse made it even more of a dick move, there had to have been SOMETHING behind it that provoked him to do it, I highly doubt it was on a whim. Since it is a rivalry, who knows what was going on behind the scenes.tcarrier32;516314 wrote:hold on...
the dude went for two based off a cheat sheet that almost every single coach in the NCAA used, and didn't even convert it. Yet half of this board is acting like they have all been personally hurt by this. Shut the hell up. It's a rivalry, and shit happens. OSU fans almost ejaculate when you mention Coach Hayes saying "Because they wouldnt let me go for three".
Yeah, its a little tacky to go for two in this instance, but shit happens and get the fuck over it. Brewster has a shit program and is a shit coach.

If going for two was okay for Ohio State to do against its rival, then I think it's probably okay for Wisconsin to do against its rival.ytownfootball;516573 wrote:People (fans of the Buckeyes) loved that, because it was what (at least a part of it) made the OSU/Mich. rivalry what it is today.
