I will abide by a truce as long as the Browns fans quit referring to Ben as a rapist. Rape is a very serious crime that shoudn't be mocked. As I said in previous threads if he was found guity I'd be the 1st one to lock him up. The DA in Georgia is running for reelection, that trial would have been a gold mine for him. Believe me if he had evidence he would have prosecuted. Ben is guity of putting himself in stupid situations like we all have. I have been a Steeler fan my whole life and will stick up for my team as I deem appropiate. I understand that you Brown fans have been through hell the last 50 years but dont take it out on the Steelers because they do things right. I'll keep this truce as long as the Steelers get the respect they have earned.

"Stupid situations like we all have"? I have never pulled down my pants and forced a girl that was almost 10 yrs younger than me into a bathroom stall.
As far as giving the Steelers respect goes....I respect the Steelers organization and many of the Steelers fans on here. I dont respect people that hate the Browns and yet flood their threads with negative comments and childish name calling. For every post you make on a Steelers thread you probably make about 5 on a Browns thread, whats the deal? We get it, you dont like the Browns. Its time to grow up

GTFO. You are completely innocent...am I right?
I agree with the earlier posts. I'm interested in what happens on the field. Lets stop the kiddie nonsense. That being said....I'm changing my prediction.

Yeah but using that logic the Steelers could have the equivalent of 10 NFL championships under the old system.
It's tougher to go through the playoffs 3-4 rounds and deal with the added media hype that there is today. Look at how many conference championship games teams like the Steelers and Cowboys have made along with the Super Bowl titles.

Let's see.....I've liked the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates (NL), New York Yankees (AL), New York Knicks, Notre Dame football, Syracuse Orange(men) basketball for as long as I've been watching those respective sports. They're sure as hell not all winners and I don't switch teams no matter what.
If that makes me bandwagon......I shoulda picked 'em better.

I think OSU and the Steelers both are committed to the type of football that a lot of people like.
They both have great fans and tradition. If OSU is playing a bowl game wherever, they'll have a good following. Steelers fans are the same. There are a lot of transplanted fans around the country but then some people are just that devoted they like to make the road trips to different stadiums.
In recent years they've both evolved into passing teams but for the most part they've prided themselves in good defense and running the ball.
Both teams have a lot of pride. Every game they play the other team knows who they're playing and it's going to be a magnified type game.
I would say the consistent brand of football is true for both and it may be appealing to the same individual. Not just strictly winning but the overall product.
Browns haven't delivered this very much, if at all, in a long time. Maybe a glimpse here or there but mostly you don't know what to expect from year to year, game to game. A lot of different players, different ideas about how to do it.
Not saying this is a reason to switch teams. I don't think many fans have just decided to like OSU and the Steelers in like the past few years. They probably have for many years but I can see some pretty obvious parallels between the two teams.
The Pirates are in some ways like the Browns in MLB. The Pirates are worse I'll admit that but they're similar in that at one time they had some great players and great times, but it's been so long that it's hard to fault some people for going in a different direction, or following a second team even slightly, just to enjoy baseball. Some people really like the game and watching the Pirates you just don't get anything in return. No pleasure. Not only do they have poor talent but they don't play good fundamental baseball and they're pushovers. They accept losing and don't play tough. The opposite of what people want out of their baseball team.
I think this is somewhat true for the Browns but it's a little different in football because it's still football so it's naturally more exciting for the fans than baseball even if the team is struggling. And there aren't many games, so by the time the next year rolls around you're still going to take advantage of the limited opportunities to attend games, wear the jerseys, etc.

The Steelers haven't won the championship every year. They've had a lot of tough playoff losses but it's been entertaining to the fans because many of those teams played tough, physical, inspired football, with bad ass defensive players running around making plays and smashing people. The identity of the Steelers has been relatively the same for a long time. The fans have had a good time following the Steelers.
I think it's the same for OSU fans. The players change obviously in college but they keep bringing in the same type of guys, big tough linebackers, good athletes, and the players that understand where they're playing and the expectations.
That's awesome stuff and the Browns are missing out.

Thats why us OSU/Browns fans dont know about football right? Where was your tough flying around defense last year with Troy out? Where's the smash mouth running game of the steelers youve been championing? It doesn't exist.
The brown had a better ranked rushing offense last season, something the steelers were really missing out on while they were missing the playoffs and losing to the browns. Any other fail blanket statements you care to mention?

This is why America is generating a bunch of pussies. This "if things are going tough, its ok to quit and do something else" attitude is just being passed down and down. Yeah I know we are just talking about sports entertainment, but there has to be some correlation. If you can't stick with the team you root for, because they are doing badly, then you are likely to do the same in real life situations that actually matter. It's a reflection of one's attitude and mind set imo. If you don't believe me, see LeBron James as an example.
