Most areas had 4 inches of rain Friday, turning the games into mudfests.
N.E. Patriots rb Fred Taylor, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars, has a son at Belle Glades Day. Kelvin played varsity last year as an 8th grader, allowed in private schools. This year the freshman rushed again for 1400 yards in the reg. season. He has 971 yds in 3 playoff games. 271, 316, and 384 last week in the muck. This week they play for the 1B State title.

If Deland wins this week,I might go the next Saturday. Citrus Bowl is 25 minutes from my house.

Fred Taylor's son had 42 carries, 210 yds., 3 or 4 TD's including the winner in overtime for Glades Day.

Taylor scored 19 times in four playoff games and now has 76 career touchdowns in two years. (He was eligible to play as an eighth-grader because FHSAA rules state middle-schoolers can participate in varsity sports when they are in the same building as high schoolers).

The 6-foot-, 200-pound Taylor had all but 71 of his team's total yards Friday afternoon. Taylor now has a mind-boggling 4,234 career yards in just two years and is on pace to break Emmitt Smith's state record of 8,804 career rushing yards.

Caught both tv games last night and I am watching Tampa Catholic get hammered by Boles.

Bolles is some program. Corky Rogers is a legend. 10 state championships and this is their first time back to back. Shows how hard it is to repeat.
The whole state is buzzing about S.T.A. and Lakeland both losing.
In 6A, DeLand was 0-10 two years ago, 6-5 last year and the RB (Mike Gillislee) went to Florida. This year they have 2 RB's. Shontrelle Johnson will go to Northwestern, Pop Saunders will be a Gator in 2011.
Belle Glade Glades Central should win another for the Muck tonite. That little community produces bigtime football players.
