The words "to hell in a handbasket" were initiated by Ty. I was playing off those words to make my point that a state not using a tax on income to generate revenue, is not the primary reason for a state experiencing economic hardship. Ohio deviating from an income tax does not send them to "hell in a handbasket". We can argue the best means of collecting state revenue. Not sure why you are trying to read all this extra bullshit into it.

Also I agree with you that Ted is not the cause of our economic situation here in Ohio nor do I think he made it worse to any great degree. I would classify Strickland's performance as average given the economic hand he was dealt. I think we need a governor that is more aggressive and willing to push some radical changes within the state. A necessity if you expect any major change in how public schools are funded. Personally I don't think Kasich is the man that will bring this type of change either. I will be happy at least with a change in governorship every four years until we find one that can.

There is hope for Ohio. The people will eventually come to their senses. And do what needs to be done. Just look at New Jersey. Even they came to their senses in electing Chris Christie.

I have not said one negative thing about Strickland's performance on this site until this post, and my criticism is mild. Nor have I said anything positive about Kasich. I have only commented on this thread to make general points or just to add a little humor. But somehow you have concocted in your mind that I think your man Strickland is the cause of Ohio's economic ills.

Yea I work for an elections board and I have no idea who has more votes of the 600 in office ballots we have locked up so anyone saying that they know anyone has any kind of early voter lead is full of shit.

Good point. However, those on one particular side (R's) are upset because their party has been behaving like the other side (D's), thus the current messed-up state of affairs in this country. When politicians who fall under that particular side (R) get back to Constitutional principles and fiscal conservatism then we'll applaud them for such.

Don't get me wrong, I'm essentially a homer for the R's, but when they mess up they should be called out and held accountable. IMO the Tea Party is an attempt to do those two things.

While I appreciate that sentiment I disagree that the Tea Party is really anything different from what we've seen.

Since you're likely more in the know as far as Tea Party ideals go what is the general consensus in the Tea Party as far as things like military spending/drug war/telecommunications policies (on the telecommunications front I mean things like net neutrality, COICA, ACTA, etc).

I'm not asking those questions as a quiz of you and don't feel the need to answer all of them if you don't know/don't want to. I just don't know the general Tea Party position on those things and they are areas that I feel very strongly about.
