Why not just layoff the Governor rent the house and save the money.
What’s our choices the puppet on the right or the puppet on the left?

You and Tiernan should run for office and give us a third choice. Quit bitching and make a difference.

I'm not saying I could do better, but that doesn't change the fact that we have two complete turds running for the office.Ghmothwdwhso;502041 wrote:You and Tiernan should run for office and give us a third choice. Quit bitching and make a difference.

I'll probably never run for any political office, but I'll damn well bitch if I want to. I help hire those jackasses with my taxes and my vote, I have a right to bitch. And I'll exercise that right.Ghmothwdwhso;502041 wrote:You and Tiernan should run for office and give us a third choice. Quit bitching and make a difference.

The problem that I can see with a third party candidate is that he/she will be destroyed by negative ads by both of the other parties. They could be a Saint, but by the time the election day rolls around everyone will be saying "why do we only have these 3 idiots to vote for". Until the negative junk stops, which I don't see ever happening, there will be no cadidate that people can take a real look at and think that they are ok.
I don't know what the answer is. I would like to see some sort of penalty for anyone running an ad or putting out literature that is full of BS. However, that could be turned on it's ear. Who is to say what is true and what is legally in question. I would love to see 2 candidates get together and agree to run their campaigns on what they have done and will do and never mention their opponent once. That would give me people worth voting for.

Yes......A Republican leaning site putting out a higher lead for kasich when every other poll shows him sinking fast. Strickland is totally screwed. Fox(who we all know is even more in the tank for Repubs than Rasmussen) only has Strickland down a point.. Am I the only one who sees something wrong with that?fish82;501488 wrote:Oops. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2010/election_2010_governor_elections/ohio/election_2010_ohio_governor

If by that you are asking if you're the only one not smart enough to acknowledge Rasmussen's accuracy, then yes. And FYI...2 days ago his approval rating for Bam was 3 points higher than Gallup.Ty Webb;502354 wrote:Yes......A Republican leaning site putting out a higher lead for kasich when every other poll shows him sinking fast. You were perhaps in diapers in 1994 when John Kasich was providing the leadership and almost single handedly formulating the plans which reigned in FEDERAL spending to get the FEDERAL budget as close to being 'balanced' as it has been in decades. If you don't think he can make a positive difference in managing a STATE budget, then you don't know you history, and you certainly don't know John Kasich.
Good luck.

I'm not THAT young... I was a 2nd-3rd grader in 1994
I won't waste time/energy on any of the rest of it. Just because you're older doesn't mean you're right.

He's right in the fact that Kasich wrote the last balanced federal budget this country had. That much is not in dispute.

Stop acting like Kasich is the only one who had anything to do with writing that budget

I'm surprised we haven't heard about all the cruel, heartless cuts he must have made to balance that budget

Kasich is only trying to set himself up for another run at the presidential nomination. He only has his best interest in mind, not Ohioans. The mere fact he had anything close to Wall Street ties eliminates him from my consideration.
Strickland has issues also but trying to blame him for Ohio's economic woes is just plain stupid. The first bi-annual budget he signed was passed with unprecedented support from both party's. In fact it passed with I think only one "no" vote. That has never happened in the history of the state and unlikely to ever happen again.
What I can say for a fact is that in my work I deal with three state departments, MH, JFS, and ODOD. My experience under the current administration is that Strickland put in very good people to run these departments. There have been major cuts, they are run very well, and for the first time in my 23 year career I actually know most of the staff, and you can call them on Friday afternoon and they actually are working. Ted gets my vote for 4 more years.

This is Dumb, IMO. You made other good points but there's plenty of well meaning, talented folks that have worked on Wall Street. JMO.

You're absolutely right. Newt helped too. I know you want to try and give Clinton some credit, but he was kinda busy screaming about the pubs starving America's children and old people with their "draconian cuts" to put in a lot of time on it.Ty Webb;503488 wrote:Stop acting like Kasich is the only one who had anything to do with writing that budget

Not giving Bill any credit....all the President does is sign the budget
Newt and all other members of Congress deserve the credit, not just Kasich

I'm not a fan of Strickland even though I am a registered democrat. There is virtually nothing he has done while in office and the jobs and businesses keep slipping away to other states and countries... hence his only MO is to go on attack.
People are leaving Ohio... young, old and businesses too which means when redistricting comes around there will be fewer representatives in Congress. At this point in time, I think I'd rather have Kasich overseeing the redistricting than Strickland.

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll in Ohio finds Gov. Ted Strickland (D) has pulled into a virtual dead heat with challenger John Kasich (R).
Kasich leads by just one point among likely voters, 47% to 46%, after holding a 9-point edge in August.
A new Fox News poll also shows Kasich slipping and has him leading by just two points, 45% to 43%.
Update: A new New York Times/CBS News poll shows Kasich with a 43% to 42%
Things are starting to look a litter brighter for Teddy. Maybe his attacks are starting to work?
I doubt it, I remember when the Republicans were in charge and the US and Ohio was in perfect shape. Then for no reason the Democrats were put in, and Ohio and the US suddenly and unexpectedly went wrong.
