Who wins the battle of presidential superheavyweights?

NO "THIRD PARTY" CANDIDATES in this one...strictly George vs. Abe.

I'm voting for George.

He had to unify 13 vastly different colonies and get a constitution written with nothing in place and from scratch.

Looking around at the discontented climate of today, I think George Washington wins this.

And it probably wouldn't be within 10 points. Excepting those who are easily appeased and complacent - who would rather have somebody else define what their "box" is going to be, the American people are desparate to break away from the monarchist-like overwhelmingly huge government that has been allowed to be built.

It would probably be billed very similar to this:

Washington - Loyalist
Lincoln - Royalist

Washington easily. Lincoln had a problem with a following the Constitution.

Washington, and it isn't even close.

Lots of folks from all over the political spectrum would rather dislike Lincoln nowadays, IMO.

In the language of the times loyalists were people who doing the Revolution were supporters of the King, also called Tories.

Washington established a precedent of signing legislation that went beyond the strict constructionist view of the Constitution and signed major legislation that went beyond the directly stated powers of the Constitution. A precedent followed by Lincoln to save our nation from the states rights traitors.
