It was an example. But, most of the parts for cars are made in other countries. (Mexico and China specifically)

Didn't think so.

I'll trust neither. I will take a car built by sober Americans. We have plenty of them being built at plants all over the country. This plant obviously has a problem. Why do you keep trying to down play the obvious problem at this plant?

Because this "obvious problem" probably occurs everywhere, all over this country.

There is no evidence of that. But there is plenty of evidence of problems at this particular plant. Heads need to roll.

I'm not sure why some people are downplaying this. Even if this "happens everywhere" it shouldn't be ignored. Get rid of the problem workers, there is plenty of unemployed people that would gladly take their job. Just like I tell all the union people at my company, you are easily replaced. Unions don't nearly have the power they once had.

That's the problem. The union protects these people vigorously under the premise that if it's hard to get rid of these guys then it's nearly impossible to get rid of the good ones. Basically what it boils down to. And falls more on the union leadership at the top. If you go down to the line stewards they are less tolerant of these bums and the good workers are actually offended by these types. But guys get written up or suspended and it gets kicked to the top where the union trades off safety "violations" for these guys' jobs.

It's a broad brush that bashes the union. Can't blame them for getting theirs in the good times, and even professionals in other industries have indirecly benefitted from those wages and benefits. The work ethic, particularly with the older union guys, is generally quite good. It's the 5% and the lazy, entitled younger workers (not that all or most young workers are) who are the problem.

Good -- Lets just HOPE that the union does not get their jobs back for them after they file all their appeals (which I'm sure the Union will most certainly do)!
