I forgot how weird and funny this movie was until I caught it again on IFC tonite...

not only a really great commentary on 1980's era consumerism, and a really cooly dry performance by Christian Bale,

but he gives a great ironic diatribe about the blandness of Phil Collins and Genesis that I really love.

This is one of my favorites. A not so well known musician Miles Fisher did a remake of the Talking Heads "This Must Be The Place" and the video pays homage to the movie. I think its pretty good...

By far my favorite movie, so many great lines. I use them all them all the time but most people don't catch them. The book is excellent as well.
