It's that time again, Bob Woodward is about to release his latest book on Monday coming from detailed conversations in the Obama White House. Called "Obama's Wars" It focuses on not just Afghanistan, but also the war within the White House, as typical for every White House.

Still, interesting insight to the workings of the President and the messy process that is foreign policy.
Some things I thought were interesting.
1. The President saying we can absorb and be stronger after another 9/11 type attack. I like this and think it is the right attitude. Sure, we don't want to be hit, but if we are, it will not radically change us and we will emerge stronger.

2. The political/ election team such as Axelrod and Rahm. To the established national security people, they got in the way and were more of an annoyance than anything else. Just adds more evidence on why I never liked those guys anyway and hope they leave soon.

3. The Afghanistan 6 page memo. It sounded like the President pretty much wrote that himself, or at least had a heavy hand in it. That is interesting from a President, as usually it is the other way around. Still, shows some leadership and direction from the President.

Good stuff as always, but also as always, it is Woodward, so have to really naw and chew at each bit of information.

Yes Obama's Wars...with "wars" being plural. Afghanistan/Pakistan/ Iraq....yes Iraq. One of the biggest whoppers told by this administration...that the combat is over in Iraq. Try explaining that one to the US "advisors" kinfolk who died in the Fallujah theatre last week, Mr. Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Obama perpetuates the endless, unwinnable wars just like the last guy did. What's even worse, Obama is sacrificing America's finest for perverse political reasons...i.e...bowing down to the hawks...who would label him a Mooslim hugger if he did the right thing in pulling the plug on these clusterfucks.

But will never happen....until at least the next presidential election cycle comes and goes. Obama's recent speeches have been laced with the typical "fear-mongering" made so famous by the likes of Rove, Cheney, Bush, Wolfowicz and Douglas Feith. All these listed have something in common with Obama...having never donned the American uni in combat. A disturbing trend indeed.

I'm hoping that Woodward's book will help ignite the firestorm and get us the hell out of both wars. Regardless of the sentiment following 9/11, Afghanistan is a lose/lose. Iraq was a lesson in futility and you would have thought we would have learned something. Hell, Vietnam was a lesson in futility but it didn't keep us from falling into another black hole, did it?

First of three articles adopted from the book printed in the Post.

The second from this morning:

Interesting and not really a surprise if you have been following the review over the past year. A little surprising on the amount of disagreement, but still interesting stuff.

Another brainless idiot in the White House. He lies about "mission accomplished" part 2. Then he sets in motion the state's "right" to police the internet. And then he has his brown shirts invading activists for peace. Biden and Petraus both call these wars what they really are...endless.

As long as the economy remains crappy, the supply of volunteers never dries up. The term "volunteer" is really a misnomer though. Try quitting and see what happens.

I would too. But, if you think about it, Obama is right, we can absorb it. Just like we absorbed 9/11.
It is bad and cannot happen, but it would not be the end of America.

Tough talk from peacenik Obama. I'm all for braggadocio, but the underlying statement is that we can afford to leave the Al Queda training grounds and come home because we can take their best shot next time and then react.

The term, "Never Again", is replaced with, "Is that all you've got?....bring it".
