A new season of Survivor is premiering right now. I know that there are several other Survivor fans out there in the Chatter world.

After two season in Samoa the show has moved to Nicaragua and is featuring a colonial/Conquistador/Spanish theme. There is no Exile Island this season, but there is a new twist this year with the Medallion of Power which can be played at a challenge to give one team an advantage or to double their reward. The tribes this year also also divided by age, with one tribe having all players under 30, and one with all players over 40. Former Miami Hurricanes and Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmie Johnson is also a contestant on the show this season.

I'm definitely excited for the return of this show, but after arguably the best season ever with Heroes vs. Villains (except for the ending), this season may be a disappointment because I can't imagine it living up to last year. Also after two season with Russell, the greatest player in the game's history making it to the final only to use, I'm curious to see what Survivor will look like in the post-Russell era, and I'm curious to see if we'll ever have another character like him.

^^^this.

if they had to listen to that drivel for three more days, no wonder they voted her off. Thank you!!

I kind of like the whole Jimmy Johnson hanging with the normal people thing...interesting to see a "celebrity" with the regular folks.
There is one guy on there who is billed as the "jackman for a pro racing team"...he has a Hendrick hat on...
wouldn't that be funny if he was on the pit crew for Jimmie Johnson?

have applied to Survivor 3 times...when is it my turn??

I decided to give it a go last night, haven't watch a full season since Boston Rob and Amber.

It was pretty good, I'm going to try and stick with it all season. Jimmy Johnson seems pretty genuine actually, I hope they keep him around a while. My like points for him went up a lot.

BUT, how in the hell do they allow a chick with one leg on the show?!?!?! That's not even right. In so many ways and on so many levels.....is there any doubt that she is gone first when the younger team loses a challenge? Then what? Discrimination suit against the producers of Survivor, that's what.

I thought it was pretty funny that that woman's husband told her she'd be the first to go because she talked too much. Guess he knows her best. :D
