I'm doing a little research about how the Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources - Div. of Wildlife. I was curious if anyone here has ever been caught fishing without a license? Has anyone here ever been caught exceeding their bag limit for fish?
If so, what happened? Fine? Citation? Jail?

I was caught fishing without a license. I was 17 at the time and told the game warden/ranger that I thought you didnt need the license until you were 18. Also I didnt catch anything, so he just let me off with a warning.

Nope, I've always gotten my license every spring.
If they decide to fine you when catching you without one it's like $400 I think.

I never have because I purchase mine every year. As someone who has a summer cottage on Put-in-Bay I do know that they usually do a god job of checking catch and size limits, especially on perch since they lowered the daily limit from 40 to 30 a few years ago.

Yup, when I was 19 got caught fishing without one. Only time I went fishing all year we did some night fishing at Charles Mill Lake and didn't catch a thing. I start making the couple hundred yard walk back to the car, and see some guy just walking buy. He politely asks "so, any luck tonight?" I reply "No, couple nibbles but didn't catch anything". He then shines his flashlight on his badge and asks us to follow him...sure enough, busted us for fishing without a license. 112$ fine.
