Nd has the homefield advatage, but Michigan looked more impressive in their win. I'll give the edge to Michigan, but this will be too close to call.

Serious question....both games were on at the same time and almost every time I changed channels at a commercial during the ND game....the UM-Uconn game was at commercial too. Did you have two TV's going or something?
Anyways, it should be a good game. Marve's mobility gave ND some trouble so containing Robinson has to be goal #1 for the Irish D. I was encouraged by ND's performance. Much more fundamentally sound than under Weis. Better technique, better conditioning, guys were in position. But, it was just one game so let's see if ND can build on that and improve. Michigan will definitely be a test.

Not sure what happened to ND's offense in the 3rd. I'm sure Kelly will correct that. Defense looked not only solid, but energized. Jesus, Gary Gray had more tackles yesterday than I think in his entire career. Can't wait to see them against better competition. We finally have reason to hope.

I think ND wins. Their defense looked good yesterday. Robinson will get hit and will make mistakes. 24-20 domers.

That's really funny..I was thinking the same thing. As much as I tried checking Michigan out, they were on commercial at the same time as ND throughout the whole game. Unless dwccrew is making his prediction based on ESPN highlights, I'm not sure how you could say that.
Anyway, the Michigan game is always a test regardless of how both teams have played. I'm really looking forward to it. The best part of the game for ND yesterday were absolute question marks every season under Weis: defense and special teams. I am encouraged that the worst part of the Purdue game was that the passsing game was a little out of sync - something we know will get better and Kelly will develop each week.
I'm taking ND over UM 27-20

Yeah, I couldn't be more pleased with Gary Gray's play yesterday. He looked like a different player. Quite a few of his tackles were near the LOS too.
Overall, the defense did a pretty good job. I was disappointed with Te'o though. He missed too many tackles. I mean, it was great to see him flying around looking to make plays but if you're not wrapping the guy up and actually tackling him.....it doesn't mean much.

^^^^Te'o missed a couple tackles but Purdue was looking for him the entire game. What impressed me was the overall defensive effort. As stated above, they were in position and had plenty left in the tank late in the game. Te'o aside, because he's going to be harrased all year, how about Carlo Calabrese? Another big difference was the cornerback play.......last year, those outside running plays went for 10 plus yards it seemed almost every time, that definitely wasn't the case yesterday. Gray and Walls seeled the corner almost every time.

If ND can play solid defense again next week, they have a very good chance to beat Michigan.

Tough game to call but if Michigan comes out and plays as well early as they did against UCONN they'll win. No TO's either.
That said I'm giving the nod to ND at home, 35-31, though it might as well be a toss up

Really wish this game was at a different time than the OSU game. I'll be rooting for Notre Dame, but this is a really difficult game to predict. Both beat solid teams in the opener, and both will badly want this game. Should be a good one.

I really really hope Notre Dame kicks the shit out of Michigan. I have a cousin who is a Michigan fan, and he was sending me texts left in right "Uh Oh Michigan is back" and many more stupid texts. I kept trying to tell him wake the fuck up its UCONN.

Notre Dame has definately improved, but for some reason I just don't think their team stacks up against Michigan. It will be somewhat close, but I think Michigan takes it

Honestly, turnovers will play a huge role Saturday. If Robinson can come in and not get caught up in all the hype of a big game, UM keeps it close and has a good chance to win. Otherwise, ND by 10.

I can't speak for dwccrew, but I watched plenty of each game as well, and it's really pretty simple.
Not being a fan of either ND or Michigan, I didn't feel the need to wait until commercial breaks to change the channel. I flipped back and forth plenty during the action, and whichever game had more going on at the time is the one I would watch. It only takes about a half-second to hit the channel return button. I agree that Michigan definitely looked more impressive.
That said, I'm picking Notre Dame for the same reason I took Michigan this weekend. When two average teams play, it's usually smart to go with the home side.

In all honesty, I think the whole team went into cruise control after the TD pass to TJ Jones.
The Irish had just gone up 20-3. The defense never gave anyone a reason to worry and had Purdue pinned deep in their own territory. I think the young guys just took their foot off the gas. The safety didn't help either. That was just a bad play call IMO.
I think that is due to the fact that they are young, and it's a very fixable problem.

Te'o missed more than "a couple tackles" but that's just semantics I suppose. Bottom line....he needs to wrap guys up. But I agree about the overall defensive effort and Calabrese played good yesterday. I was impressed.

I watched more of the Notre Dame game than the Michigan game.
I liked the play of Notre Dame's cornerbacks, particularly in run defense. Walls and Gray.
Although they did give up a lot of short passes in a soft cover 2 to Keith Smith.

I admit that I didn't watch any of the Notre Dame game, simply because of the Michigan game being on at the same time. So I'm in no shape to make any kind of prediction.
