So i'm typing a fairly hefty paper on OpenOffice, and all of a sudden my computer goes into "insert" mode...how the fuck do I get this shit off? There is no fucking insert key on my laptop!

You don't have an insert key above the delete key??

No not on my macbook...it goes f11, f12, eject key...then under the eject key is the delete key.
