Did anyone watch this tonight. Prince Poppycock one of the most werid people to ever be on a reality tv show did a Queen song tonight and may have out done Freddie Mercury. His performance was amazing. I would post a youtube link but its not up yet.

I caught bits and pieces of it. The character that he has developed in Prince Poppycock is out there, but that fucker can both sing and put on an act like no other. It's a weird character, but he embraces the character and knocks it out of the park.

He's definitely a future iconic Vegas act.

The other singers were complete garbage....You just know they are AI rejects.

The hip-hop kids are awful. They only advanced for the cute factor to get people to tune in.

The ballroom dancers are good but I can't stand the boy. Quite possibly the gayest 10 year old I have ever seen. A few weeks ago they had a 12 yr old Vanilla Ice wannabe - someone needs to tell that dbag being a wigger was never in style and that was 20-some years ago. To be 12 yrs old and already that big of a dbag is frightening.

They do end-up finding a number of good acts, I'll give them that. Probably 3-4 really good acts this year, a couple of mediocre ones, and the rest are just terrible.

The fire guy's audition was top notch, unfortunately, he has just gone down since then. The only reason the woman did poker face got in is she was one of the better ones from a very weak youtube audition show. I had high hopes for Dan Speary, but I have to totally agree with the judges, the fake arm looked horrible. The only good ones from last night that I can recall are Prince Poppycock, The electric music group, and the guy that sang you can leave your hat on.

The sisters are still part of the show because they share a disease that is likely going to result in death for the both. And, in addition to that, they can sing a bit.

That's the reality of the situation. But I do enjoy their talent and they certainly have likable personalities.

Okay, so that was a pretty cheap move made by NBC in my opinion, parading four acts out on stage and then sending all of them how, but whatever.

The electric group should be in, but I'll live.

I may piss off some people saying this, but who cares.

Those two girls are good and I had no problem taking them to Hollywood, but they aren't great. I don;t want to call it pity vote, but they are surviving on cute vote.

Finally, Conner Doran, the kite guy, is downright pathetic to have this far in the competition. Send him Vegas if you must, but he should have never made it any further. He cost a couple of very talented acts their spots. Now far be it for me to make fun of someone with a mental disorder, as I myself havew Tourettes, but I am not sure if this kid is all there. He seems incredibly immature on stage and there just seems like something more to the whole "I overcame epilepsy to be here" thing. I am sure it created some challenges for him, but he is an odd fellow.

The two girls really aren't good and never should have gotten this far, much less the finals. Total sympathy vote. Doesn't matter because I'm not sure any of the other acts could win. The electric group might be interesting to see, because the judges all say it's an incredible live experience, but IMO their music kind of sucks and after about 30 seconds the show gets old quick.

Conner Doran is the real-life Kenneth from 30 Rock. Identical twin I tell you.

It wasn't that he outdid him completely. Piers did suggest that Poppycock has a better voice, which is a valid claim. Obviously it was no performance by Queen, but in terms of singing ability it's definitely something that can be said.

They would be interesting to see one time, for about 5 minutes... the novelty wears off fast. They can't really mix it up unless they go perform in a thunderstorm and get hit by lightning instead while they play or something

He sings opera, his opera voice may be better than Freddies, but in no way is his voice better than Freddie.

I've been watching the show off and on, but one act I really enjoy is Ascendance. I think it is impressive that they make something that is so physically demanding look effortless and beautiful. If they don't win I could definitely see them getting invited to join Cirque Du Soleil.

ascendance was my 2nd favorite (after defying gravity), but after Tuesday, I am actually glad they didn't make it. The grew the size of the wall and added two dancers, and it was great, but then they stopped going on. The dancing got less difficult and less interesting, they weren't as clean as before, and they stopped going. Pierce said it best when he said that by now they should have had a full stage wall and several more dancers.

I think defying gravity is the best. I'd pay to see that show, might only be entertaining for a half hour or hour, though. But there is a lot they could add to it.

The tiger magician is pretty good, but been there done that.

Poppycock is good, but probably not good enough for Broadway or an actual Opera company. That said, I think he put together a pretty good show. His real talent may be in costume design and producing, but certainly good enough for the stage, too.

Those 3 I think will end-up being Vegas acts. Thanks for playing to the rest. The little opera girl could become a star if she continues to get good coaching. It would be a bit of a gimmick, but if you could find a script for her in a supporting role you'd sell a lot of tickets.

The opera girl is absolutely incredible. She has the voice quality of a 30 year old woman. It is absolutely incredible.

Poppycock could definitely do an opera company. Did you see his audition?

Yes, I saw his audition. These guys are usually on the show because they can't find work singing. He doesn't hold his notes and he has a limited range, for opera singers. A company would not hire him. He has a very good voice, not good enough for a production but his talent lay in having created this outlandish character that you could put a show around.

I'm by no means an opera snob or an expert, but I've listened to enough to pick-up on differences. The young girl is comparable to other singing talents of her age but you overrate her because you have not heard experienced and trained 30-yr old opera singers. If a girl like that tried to sing Whitney or Mariah, while it would be good you'd immediately hear that she's nowhere near them, at least not yet.

It never fails on these shows. People overrate opera singers because they've heard so few, if any. And while they are obviously better voices than you normally hear, they are to opera what AI contestants are to pop: good but not usually good enough to be in that top 1/2 of 1% or whatever.
