I wish some Christians and churches only understood the truth that you don't convert people by screaming at the top of your lungs that their lifestyle is immoral and protesting that their place of work should be shut down.

You convert people to Christianity by showing them compassion and love. Its how Jesus did it, read the Gospels, you won't see Jesus walking up to non-believers and pounding their sins over their heads (only did he do that to the religious leaders).

If only more Christians actually acted more "Christ like".

If Christians acted more "Christ like" there wouldn't have been centuries of blood spilled in Europe.

FTW!

The only thing else I got from the article is that from the one pic, I'd totally do that stripper-turned-Christian Donewald chick. Gotta find a way to mix some cocaine into her food to try to get her back to hookin' and stripping.

1. A lot of Christians wouldn't take "Jesus Freak" as a put down.
2. As much as I disagree with how this church went about this, they were most certainly NOT "forcing their will on others". They were peacefully demonstrating outside of an establishment that they believe to be immoral. The strippers were doing the same outside the church. In America that right is in our Bill of Rights/Constitution. Forcing their will would be blocking the doors to the strip club and not allowing anyone to enter, which they did not.

I read somewhere that the people from the church were taking pictures of peoples licence plates at the strip club and putting it online. I would sue those freaks back to the stone age if they did that shit to me.

Now that's a "line" they shouldn't have crossed and possibly get sued for. I did not know about that one :).

Whatever, you know what I meant. They need to mind their own business and stay the fuck out of others' business.

Religion doesn't make people self-righteous it just makes those who are already self-righteous more so.

My personal opinion is fanatics - be it sports teams, religions or politics - tend to generally be relatively stupid and/or suffering from low self-esteem. They're called "nuts" for a reason because rational and intelligent people rarely get so carried away.

Pretty damn sure "Jesus Freak" is always meant as a put-down , or at least it should be. Way more problems in society caused by Jesus Freaks than are caused by Strippers. I'd personally love to cold cock the pastor of this two-bit hillbilly dump of a church.

On the same note shouldn't you "mind your own business and stay the #*@* out of their business"?

It goes both ways. Aside from the liscense plate thing (if true), if they were just protesting outside of the strip joint peacefully and not blocking the entrance, they did zero wrong. Just as the strippers did zero wrong by peacefully protesting at the church.

Thats fine but if I go to this strip club and they are preaching to me as I am walking in the door is it fine if I give them my own "gospel" (a.k.a say the dirtiest things that come to mind)?

One point that hasn't been mentioned is the fact that people simply don't want strip clubs in their neighborhoods. This includes the guys who go 10, 20, or 30 miles to a strip club, but wouldn't want one in the town they live in.

I know Newcastle might have 10 houses in it, maybe. But it also is well known for having the Foxhole. If you were from that town would you want that to be what it's identified with??

Look I'm far from a bible thumper, but I sure as hell would not want this place next to my house!

This is true....People fight and protest anything that could hurt property values all the time, particularly true of bars and strip clubs but also re-zoning for commercial developments. Nobody wants nuclear power, either, even when it would bring a lot of jobs to an area.

Absolutely, as long as what you say isn't harassing and you don't touch them (aka things you could get arrested for), you are perfectly within your rights as an American.

That is a very true statement, even those that frequent strip clubs, many of them do not want them near their house.

Naah I'm an equal liberties hater of all religious fanatics whether they be Christian, Islamic or Judaism. Just because you're of the Christian variety doesn't make you special in any way...you're just as crazy as the jihad loons.
