Seriously, why do people getting on to the main road think it's cool to just ignore the yield sign and just get in your lane while you are currently occupying it? I have two kinda awkward ramps that feed into the main roads I travel twice daily and at least 4 times a week someone almost hits me because they don't yield.

They just replaced a perpetually busy intersection with a "modern" (read: 2-laned) roundabout, and the rule is you yield to those in the roundabout (meaning you don't have to stop if the thing is open) I'm going to end up running someone over here pretty soon for stopping to enter a completely vacant roundabout.

Also, hicks in SE Ohio are entirely too stupid to get in the right lanes to make the thing ever work... I'm talking to you Time Warner truck who was beside me and did both of the things I mentioned.

It's really bad at 23/270 on the north outerbelt in Columbus. I tell my wife all the time that I'm gonna let the next expensive car that does it to hit me. The 270 Sawmill interchange has it figured out since they redid it.

or you have people take it to the other extreme when merging onto the highway. yeah there is a yield sign, but that doesnt mean you slow down to 25mph to try and merge onto a 65mph highway.

Those are the sorts of places that the highway patrol and other authorities ought to be posted up on.

This.

My driving instructor during an in car told me to never slow down if I am trying to get on the highway. Unless, of course, traffic is stopped or something like that.

^^not with a yield sign on the on ramp. You yield to on coming traffic...but you don't have to actually stop. It's frustrating when the oncoming traffic doesn't give exiting vehicles the right of way.

On the flipside...I hate it when I'm merging into traffic and I don't have a yield sign, but the traffic flowing in the far right line is packed, or some idiot doesn't see me trying to get in traffic. Just switch lanes and let me merge asshole!

Yeah, I learned that complaining about Cincinnati drivers, on 71 especially, is pointless. Awful, awful drivers.

I almost get hit frequently when I am going towards Dana crossing Madison, remember how that used to be a continuous right turn with 'caution' right there and it isn't now? I remember people always stopping there when they didn't have to, now no one stops.

Yielding in the Cincy area, forget it. I also never realized that many cars down here don't have turn signals. Or is it that whole signal your turn is optional law in SW Ohio.

^^^^^^^ This and all of the above. I believe it is the society we are becoming, connected to other places by electronic and other means instead of being where our mind should be on the here and now. My old man drove semi for many years and preached to me the importance of paying attention, now music, cell phones and texting, computers and pda's all are invading our cars and taking our attention away from actually driving.

I used to live right in front of a fork in the road and instead of actually stopping at the stop sign on the right side the people would just creep up slowly and try to merge with the traffic coming from the left side. There was also a little side street so add cars turning off and onto that and there was at least one accident a week. One time my brother was coming down the left side of the fork on his motorcycle and had to turn right into our driveway. There was a little old lady that didn't stop at the stop sign and was just creeping up until she was blocking our driveway and waiting for him to go by her. He finally had to yell "Go! I am trying to turn into the driveway you are blocking" before she realized what was happening.

We lived right where Plymouth Street, Springmill and Birchfield all met. Disaster.

You'll know both of the places I am talking about.

The first is getting off of 71S onto Dana. There is that onramp right before the exit and no one yields. A while back my wife almost got hit by a moron that didn't yield so the jackass sped up, got in front of her, slammed the brakes and stopped right on the exit to Dana. He was waving her around frantically to go ahead of her, likely so he could follow her to wherever she was going. She just stayed where she was and the guy finally gave up and took off.

The other is once you get off on Dana and turn left towards Madison. In the right lane just past the first light whatever road that is dumps into Dana.

I actually haven't had any problems in the new roundabout yet. It's only a matter of time though with all the bad drivers our there.

Yes!!!! This is the worst. Or they stop completely like the yield is a stop sign.

I like when three semis decide to pass one another on the highway going 65, 66 and 67 respectively.

Only takes one person to do that to fuck over everyone behind them. I've seen many people attempt to do that in Dayton and they have a line of cars trying to merge onto I-75 completely stopped.

Not happening.
