When Gibson runs a 4.55 at the combine he will be a top 15 pick. Without Heyward and Gibson, the defensive line will not be nearly as good as it this year, and you can't win a national title without excellent line play.

With the players that are returning (even if Heyward and Gibson leave early) the Buckeyes will be solid enough to win the Big 10 outright. IF Pryor can get the deep ball down, the Buckeyes will be a contender for the national title. I think the schedule is favorable for a run at the title.

A win in the Rose Bowl will give me alot more confidence, as a fan, heading into next season.

I'll be the first to admit it if he does change, however I called this dog early last year, and so far I've been correct.
Don't totally disagree with you. But did Krenzel have the "it" factor? I am not so sure he did.
And, look at what Pryor has done as a starter.....I believe he is now 19-3 overall. He just needs to take another step up and that maybe enough to get OSU over the top with the defense they have returning.

let's worry about the Rose Bowl first..............then an injury free off season where we get another great recruiting class.............then stay injury free and see how we stack up next fall !!!!

To me, Krenzel did have the "it" factor. When he needed to make big plays, he did. Holy Buckeye (he audibled this at the line), 4th and 14 (I believe he called this play as well, but not totally sure), etc. The guy made some of the greatest plays in OSU football history. While he may not have been the best or most athletic QB at OSU, he definitely had "it" and also has a NC ring. Let's not forget he was 26-3 as a starter and had he had a running back worth a damn in 2003, could have went unbeaten that season too.

I think Pryor could be great, if he gets his read progressions improved and can start throwing a better deep pass, but Krenzel will forever be a OSU great in my mind. Don't forget there is a bobblehead of him!!! ;)

Umm yea. Who the hell else is gonna challenge them for it? OSU is essentially returning almost everybody.

That didn't help in 2003. Injuries can play a big part too. I hope we're gonna win the big ten again, but we still have to play the games. :)

I would hope a Big Ten title is within reach with Pryor, he already has two. And I think the next two years they will be a top contender for the NC.

If OSU wins the Rose Bowl, and takes care of Miami, plus the rest of their schedule, we'll be in the National title game.

However, that is a long way away, and things happen between now and then..

I think Miami will be even better than they are this year. Jacory Harris will be even better than he is now

OSU's schedule and talent set up nicely for a pretty good run, I would think.

Yes, they will at least share the title....I don't seem them going any worse than 11-1 (at Wisky scares me).

Not having Clarett coast us a repeat national title IMO. The games they lost (Wisconsin and Michigan) we had no running game. That would have made the difference. The D was incredible but got no help from the O, like this year.

So will Ohio State and Pryor.

Wisky and Iowa scare me. Both away games, but I don't see us losing more than one of these and possibly not losing either.

Sounds to me like everyone is forgetting Miami. They scare me more than the mediocre Big 10 teams.

Why not? Isn't that what is supposed to happen? 6 in a row sounds so much better than five.
