Random note: there will be a new date for Opening Day. The first game of the year will be on April 1, which is the friday before the usual monday opening day. There will be a friday-sunday series, which gets rid of the off-day after opening day (i fucking hate that off day, stupidest thing ever)

IMO, this is one of the better ideas baseball has had in a while.

Yeah they usually dont, i have no idea why they would televise this game.

Doesn't mean much to me, i'll be at work. Maybe there will be a better live stream of the game now that's televised.

FSN Ohio added this to the schedule last week because the Reds are in the race and because they have the day off tomorrow anyway. I have the day off today so I'll be around. Lets get Travis Wood his first W.

Weird, my guide doesn't show it in HD. If they only do the SD channel when they already have the cameras there..Well they would be FSO.

That moron got quoted many, many times saying that there was no way in hell he was going to risk hurting him again. He even went as far as to say that he hinted to him not to try as hard. Berry even held him at 3rd because of his leg probably because Baker said if its Rolen and its gonna be close don't send him. Bottom line is he is a complete idiot.

And Jockety comes out and officially announces we are no longer interested in acquiring anyone.

I get this sickening feeling that the Reds are going to start to be the Reds again here soon.

And why is BP back into the lead-off spot? Did we just want a game change of pace by putting Cabrera there?

Rolen isn't playing because we have to save him for October. Baker completely believes this team is going to win it all.

That promo on 700 makes me want to kill small children, 'listen to MY Reds', fuck that guy.

Hardly anyone is going to make a move. Look at whats available. Very little. There are 16-18 buyers, maybe 5-7 sellers. The prices for average talents you can acquire via free agency any off-season (Scott Podsednik, Jose Guillen, Jorge Cantu, Miguel Tejada, many, many others) are too high. Unless you are trading for an impact player (Haren, Lee, Oswalt, Fielder, Werth, maybe a few others), and maybe 3-4 teams will, it's just not worth meeting the high cost demands, especially when we see what guys like Heisey, Wood, Leake, Stubbs, Ondrusek and others have brought the Reds this year. Those guys are big reasons the team is where they are.

I don't think any of us ever thought the Reds would "go big" and acquire a guy they would have to pay a mega-contract too or give up 3 top tier prospects for, so I'm not sure why people are getting bent out of shape when the team doesn't trade for the likes of the B or C-level talent on the trade block.

I mean Toronto reportedly wants Joba Chamberlain from NYY and Casey Kelly from BOS for Scott Downs. That's ridiculous. How many people actually knew who Scott Downs was before this year? I only did because he went to UK and started off with the Cubs...but that was a decade ago, and now, at age 34, a middle relief, left-handed specialist is worth a top 25 prospect in all of baseball? If that isn't evidence enough of how ridiculous the market it is and why the Reds are 100% justified in not making a move, I'm not sure what else is. Sure, it would be nice to go for it all this year, but you can also legitimately say this organization finally has the foundation to sustain success more than just the summer of 2010.

Good 1st inning by the Reds....it's like with Rolen not in the lineup they just hack away with no plan at all....with Rolen they seem to battle more....whatever.

Another lefty that sucks pretty much that will go 7 2/3 giving up 1 on 85 pitches
