Jake Westbrook (6-6, 4.74) vs. Javier Vazquez (8-7, 4.68)

A-Rod still looking for #600 in this first game of the 4-game set.

As a side note, the last time Vazquez and Westbrook matched up (I think), was 5 years ago in New York...a game the Indians won 22-0

I have a feeling that Arod gets number 600 tonight.

Salem Ohio's own Jerry Meals on the umpiring crew for this series... I'm not sure if he grew up a Tribe fan or not.

Working 3B tonight.

Classic Jake Westbrook. Always pitches just badly enough to lose. Indians score 0, he'll give up 1. Score 4, he'll give up 5.

That's why he's a sub-.500 pitcher for his career, even with a decent ERA.

I hope all the Yankee fans who were at the game get stopped by the cops on their way home.

So the team that has a payroll of 200 million beat the team with a payroll of 50 million. It's just so shocking. Maybe Jordo can explain again about the parity of baseball.

agreed--when he pitches with a lead, you know a game tying/winning homer is just around the corner--never fails

His reaction to the Granderson was pretty funny. I felt bad for him, he really only made two bad pitches all night, but in the worst spots and the hitters pounced on them both.
