Reds try to play it conservatively by holding Rolen at 3rd on Bruce's two strike hit up the middle with 2 on and no out, but Gomes got back safely to 2nd to make it bases loaded and no out. But Stubbs takes strike 3 on the 3rd pitch.

^^Rolen was toast if they send him. Plus no point and trying it and reinjuring the hammy.

Stubbs looked like shit, but Hanigan comes through with a liner to left.

I don't disagree with holding Rolen, but you can't run up people's backs on the bases with no outs and take yourselves out of the inning. Hanigan's hit was big to get two runs in after the Stubbs ineptitude, and the runners getting to 2nd and 3rd could have been big, but it didn't turn out. It allowed Bronson to swing away freely without fear of grounding into a DP, then if he did make an out, which he did, it gave Cabrera a shot at a couple two out RBI. If Hanigan makes an out with no RBI, then the only shot is Arroyo with two out.

There are a tremendous number of pitches that Stubbs can't handle. Tonight we see his weakness on back door breaking balls from a left! 2 Ks!

That 1st at bat by Stubbs was atrocious....as was trying to get out Edmonds on that pitch...have they not ever seen him play?????
