If he does leave, would it have been better to have done it behind close doors?

It would be much better. Do it with class.

You obviously underestimate a lot of us. If he leaves, he's dead to me and I'm sure a lot more Cleveland fans.

If he were to hold it at the team's facility, it would be all over the media before he made the announcement.

Someone said Greenwich is where Carmelo is getting married this weekend so that is why LeBron is up there but it is also convenient as a neutral site

I heard that too. But I think Melo is getting married in NY, not positive.

I still can't see him breaking the Cavs' hearts on TV, even with all this Miami stuff. We'll see.

This is the same guy that flaunted the Yankees cap openly at a Tribe game and stood on the Dallas Cowboys sidelines at a home Cleveland Browns game. Root for who you are going to root for, no biggie, but when you are rubbing it in the faces of the hometown crowd who supports you and buys tickets to see YOU, that's just not something you do.

I really think that he thinks this is no big deal...just another day in the life of the Chosen One. I don't think he cares what the reaction or fallout will be.

Wish I had that optimism. The fact he named it "The Decision" he is either adding to the line of Cleveland heartbreaks or purposefully trying to reverse the trend. I think Bosh snubbing the team really hurt his optimism of getting another top guy in Cleveland. Now say the Cavs can get a deal in place for Johnny Flynn and Al Jefferson (wishful thinking IMO) and CP3 tells Lebron he will come to Cleveland and play with him and for Byron Scott then that may be something. But too many variables we have no idea about

Never really thought about the Byron Scott factor. CP3 and BS were pretty close if I remember correctly?

Which is a stupid statement. Granted maybe an hour special is a bit much, BUT it is going to be on national television no matter what, whether it is an interview or a small press conference.

Exactly! Even if he doesn't do it, ESPN will have an all day marathon discussing his decision.

Does Chris Grant have a job tomorrow?

He's trying to get Flynn but I can't see that as any serious motivation for him to stay. Lebron wants a "star." That's why apparently he's targeting Bosh & Wade. Don't know if that threesome will work but he'll have his stars.

i wouldn't go this far, he won't be dead to me. he'll be a great player on another team, similar to kobe or dwayne wade is now. i root against them whenever they play the cavs, and the other 75 or so games, i just don't care what the do (but i do celebrate a great play, like kobe's buzzer beaters, or lebrons dunks).

No it isn't a stupid statement. I agree a small press conference or an interview would have sufficed but no reason to go the "Jersey Shore/reality TV" route to kick Cleveland fans in the nuts.

I don't see it happening but I'd LMAO if he was playing Wade & Bosh and stayed put.

Correct, CP3 told Lebron that Byron Scott is the type of coach that he has wanted all along. A guy with discipline and someone that will challenge him to be a better player. I know CP3 spoke out against his firing and thought of Scott as a mentor to him. That is why if LBJ stays in Cleveland and we have some good expiring deals the year CP3 hits the market I would think we would be serious contenders.

I might be in the minority here but I dont think the Cavs roster is THAT far away. I think a move like adding Jefferson and Flynn could happen without giving up too much. After that go after Miller and Shaq with the MLE or BAE.

I have to say that I HATE the approach that Grant is taking. Make moves to make the team better. I dont understant the point of sitting on your hands and waiting for Lebron. Make improvements to the roster. Cavs have some pieces that they could use in a trade. I dont think Flynn and Jefferson would be imposible. Improvements can be made without having to start over completely.

I agree that the whole hour may be a bit much, but calling it the most classless act in sports is a stupid statement.

The only problem is if you had a chance to play for Byron Scott or Pat Riley (you know Riley will take over because his ego is too big), who would you choose?

Its not the most classless act in sports but its up there. Hour long TV show to announce you're leaving your hometown fans and city. Seems like a bit much. Whatever, BRING ON THE BROWNIES!!

Even if #Cavs get Jonny Flynn, won't make a difference in #LeBron decision, source says. That's not a surprise.

Source told FOXSports.com Miami Heat have offered Mike Miller 5-year deal worth 27-30 million with deadline tonight.

It is pretty classless to go on TV and tell a fan base that follows your every move, "it's been fun, gotta go now" after what the city has been through. It would be one thing if it were Boston or LA where they have won championships but this city has been starving for a championship since 1964. There are better ways to handle it than this.

Once a team closes in on the salary cap do they get a MLE and BAE or do they have to wait till the next season? The offer to Miller sounds like the MLE but I didn't think a team got it till the season after they played over the cap.

I said the same thing before I heard Wade the other day. I don't think Grease Ball is going to come down and coach.

True, maybe because we are in Cleveland I don't know CP3's relationship with Bosh/Wade if it is as close as he seems with Lebron. My comment of him coming to play here hinges on LBJ staying and not going to the Heat.
