From Windhorst:

There are many people in LeBron's camp who are advising against leaving including, I'm told, Chris Paul. But this is a committee of one.

Something tells me that Paul might like to come to Cleveland to play with Lebron. But as the post says, he's a committee of one. If his mind is made up, I don't even know if by some miracle they could acquire Paul that it would keep him here.
I think if CP3 said "I'm coming to Cleveland." Then Bron, IMO, would change his mind. That is if he was set on leaving.

Deadspin will be compiling the best cavfanatic posts today for your amusement (even some of the casual Cavs fans will probably get a good laugh out of some of the delusional ones)

He would have to wait one more year though. I really do think CP3 wants to come to cleveland to play with LeBron too.

They could work a trade somehow, but its probably too late now.

Windhorst said that they went after Paul hard, but after the Hornets cleared salary to get out of the luxury tax, they weren't interested in moving Paul anymore.

I think they have been trying to but a) the Cavs don't have the right pieces and b) Paul isn't on the market.

That's not going to be enough to change his mind if he wants to leave

I went to the convenience store after class and the clerk working the store was complaining about working so hard. We got engaged in a discussion about how hot it was outside. She said she'd much rather be outside rather than in work, regardless of temperature. She said she enjoyed hot weather like today because she is originally from Miami. She made no mention of LeBron.

This, of course, means he's staying in Cleveland.

KR1245;415098 wrote:Gimme a break. Lebron James would be "stubborn and naive" for staying with his hometown team? That has to be one of the most ignorant comments that I have seen on this website. Cavs might not have the roster to get it done right now. There are moves that they can make to improve the roster. I dont understand why people think its impossible for the Cavs to make a trade. The Raptors liked the Cavs package, Bosh just wasnt into it. So they can swing a deal thats good enough for a guy like Bosh but cant make any other moves to improve their roster? I dont understand this logic

If winning is the most important thing to him-- then yes, he'd be a naive man. I completely agree with dynasty, and I've mentioned the same thing several times. LBJ has a great on court mind, but off of it, I don't think he'd make such a good GM. His hands have been on all the moves, and none of them worked the way they hoped for. The writing is on the wall-- if the Cavs don't make a move, this isn't a team that'll win a ring. Is he willing to sign knowing that and HOPE they make more moves in the future? How confident can he be in them making moves? Hopefully it would go better than the last few moves. It's not about making moves to make them, which they've done. It's about making the right moves, and those are far and few inbetween. They've had a loooong time to make these moves, where are they? The shows about to end, maybe they're saving the best for last. He has chances to better himself, if he doesn't take them, then the joke is on him.

Al Jefferson/Johnny Flynn for Delonte, Jamison, 2012 1st rounder?? No source, just made it up but we'd take ~$16mil in salary and give up around $18mil so I think that deal works financially (within 15% of each other)

Goldhammer said on ESPN this morning that if LeBron announces he is leaving on national television, it would be the most classless thing in the history of sports.

Bill Simmons said the same thing, and quite frankly who could argue differently? Not to mention that if he goes to Miami he's admitting he's not the type of player that deserves his own 1 hour special. Jordan/Bird/Magic were those type of players not Pippen/McHale/Worthy which is what LeBron will become in Miami.

I dont understand why it would be so classless.

If he does leave, would it have been better to have done it behind close doors?

Just like any other big FA, just sign your deal and go on and let the media know. Or announce it from the arena of the team you are signing with at a short press conf to hold up your new jersey, done.

The only reason I understand him doing it in Conn is that nobody really knows what is going on and can leak the information.

If he were to hold it at the team's facility, it would be all over the media before he made the announcement.

No. Cleveland fans would still hate him and act like children. And they would just be glued to the TV's when he did an interview with someone a couple months later.
