2012 us two years away but I have to say, Barry O is wearing on me. If there is a formidable candidate on the other side...I have to think I'm probably going to vote for them; but truthfully, and I think I'm at least reasonably interested in politics to the point where I know who's out there and I don't see much that I'd vote for...BUT, Mitt Romney.

I personally think Mitt Romney is the man. Yeah, yeah, he's not all rah, rah, pump you up like Sarah Palin or BHO...but that stuff doesn't really interest me anyways.

He came as close as anyone to knocking out Ted Kennedy in Mass. in 1994...if he can do that in Mass. I think he could take out BHO nationwide. He was a rich kid who had a rich dad but he's also humble because he was a missionary.

He's intelligent...he knows economics and he's as good of an executive you'll find.

Let it go that he signed Romney-care, is flippy floppy on abortion and that he's a mormon.

He's as good of a candidate for President as we'll find I think...He's not hardcore and he's no tea partier, but he's better than BHO is he not?

What are the conservatives thoughts? If you guys can get him through nomination...I think he can overcome the demagoguery of the left and he'll probably have my vote.

These are exactly the reasons why I hope he is the candidate in 2012. With his background, he has little chance of beating Obama.

As a fiscal conservative I am very weary of Romney. I don't really agree with many of his policies, however, I do think that he would be better than Obama, but the lesser of two evils is still evil IMO.

I'm lukewarm about Romney on a good day after eating a piece of chocolate fudge cake. And THAT'S saying something!

I mean, he does say some good points that I agree with, but that's about it.

Romney has zero chance of winning the party's nomination. The Tea Party is going to eat him alive when they get the chance.

The whole point is to nominate someone and draw a contrast against Obama for the public to make a choice. Romney was a big spender in Massachusetts, he believed in government mandated health care, he was pro-choice until it was politically not popular for him.......in other words he is a toned down version of BHO. Not exactly what the electorate is looking for.

Conservatives will flat out not accept a candidate that believes in a government mandate that you must buy health insurance, and there is recorded video of him saying he does. That will be played on loop during the primary season and will cost him any shot he may have had of becoming the nominee.

Besides, his time at Bain Capital will be a tremendous political liability in an uneasy economic environment. While there is nothing illegal about what he did with the private equity business, the ads people will run about him will be absolutely devastating.

People are out of work, and most that have jobs don't necessarily feel 100% secure. You can just imagine how savage the attacks will be against a guy who made his fortune by buying companies, laying almost everyone off, gutting them of what was remaining, and then selling them for a big profit. It's the capitalist way, but people are not going to rally around someone who's labeled a fat cat job killer who got rich tearing apart companies and firing the little guy wherever he went.

No one does class warfare better than the Democrat party, and serving them up a private equity guy who made his money the way Romney did is one step below nominating Lloyd Blankfein if you are looking to squander what should otherwise be a winnable election against a wounded BHO.

Romney ? Can't be nominated by the Social Conks.

Paul ? Fringe candidate. Won't be nominated.

Palin ? Please, bring her on !! LOL !

Pawlenty ? Not a true Conk. Can't be nominated.

Obama still has little competition from Rs. And another two years will look very different than now. Odds are he gets re-elected.

I think the Republicans are much more divided than the Democrats and there are more Democrats than Republicans in almost every Presidential election. I would say that Obama has a better than even money chance of being returned to the White House in 2012 for another four years as our president. I also believe that the economy is slowly coming around and if the job situation becomes less of an issue, the Republicans will be declared officially dead. And no, Ron Paul will not be our next President.

Tea party wont have anything to do with this election. They are the far right of te party and the moderates and independants arent going to follow them.

In a Republican primary, the Tea Party is a force to be reckoned with. To get the nomination, you must go through the primary. They are the most energized part of the party, and will play a huge role in the primaries in 2012.

Look at some of these Congressional primaries, the Tea Party people are the ones voting. They will never allow a quasi liberal like Romney anywhere near the nomination.

Romney can't win because he enacted pretty much the same health care law in Mass.

Jindal can't win because people wont be able to get past the fact that he was raised Hindu

Huckabee can't win because the less religous crowd won't vote for him

Palin cant win because...well there are too many reasons to list..but she can't win

Scott Brown can't win because unlike Obama...he will not be well known nationally enough by the primaries

If Barak's middle name "Hussein" didn't hurt him I would not worry about "Piyush Amrit" for Jindal. After all Hussein = Evil dictator, muslim terrorist, and foreign born all wrapped up into one.

I'm a big Romney fan. I voted for him in the primaries and have liked him for years now. I don't think there's any real chance he'll be the nominee (because of all the idiots in our party), so I'll probably have to suffer through being underwhelmed again by our nominee.

Elected != nominated, unfortunately. Romney would do well in a general election, but he has very little chance of being nominated.

Well I didn't know Jindal was running, he's actually my favorite. That terrible speech turned a lot of people off but that guy is brilliant.

It is important to note that Piyush Amrit "Bobby" Jindal won the governorship in Louisiana, it's the deep frickin' south. If they will elect him the rest of the country won't have a problem with his race/religion.

I've said for 2 years now that if he ever runs and it isn't againist Obama,I'm voting for Jindal
