If the big red band is so great why haven't they been asked to play at a Steelers game or march in Disney world or to march in Chicago or in Dollyworld

You got to have something positive to talk about with IC during football season. Considering all that I've read about them being a "2 seed", how "much improved" they are, and "possible 10-0". Yet after week 5 they are the 12th seed. I said 7-3 preseason which included a win over oak glen. They MUST win the next 2 weeks to have any chance of playoffs this year.

The IC band director is from Big Red, much like most of their school employees, and he patterned their band after ours, which is why I refer to them as Imitation Creek Marching Band.

I dont know but as far as football goes ,When I was a kid it always gave me goosebumps when they marched into the stadium . It still does today and when they play the horse it gets you going . They just jam . They get the team fired up and the crowd fired up . Big Red band is like the football team they are the best band in Buckeye land . hey but congrats on the IC band . Ill take my SHS band any day and twice on Sunday. Sorry posters aint going to have anybody put our band down . Now maybe if IC does the job this year we will have a battle of the bands in week 11. Ill do one beter Ill start a thread on best high school band so everybody can chime in .

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I wish more bands would drop the boring, same old stuff and pep it up a bit like the BR band. They are actually a part of the game and get the fans and team revved up. They really help to set the stage for the game.ManO'War;501099 wrote:The IC band director is from Big Red, much like most of their school employees, and he patterned their band after ours, which is why I refer to them as Imitation Creek Marching Band.

They'd do all those, but the event has to come to Steubenville - don't ya know they only do HOME gigs!!creekloyal;501050 wrote:If the big red band is so great why haven't they been asked to play at a Steelers game or march in Disney world or to march in Chicago or in Dollyworld

Ok, love how Big Red supporters can take STRAIGHT UP FACTS and blatantly ignore them. It was a question...if your band is THAT GREAT, why have they not left the valley, except on the coat tails of the Ohio Valley All-Star team? If Creek's band is an "imitation," wouldn't Big Red's have been offered this opportunity first? Just sayin...
And, yes, Creek's director is from Big Red. However, what Creek's band does has absolutely nothing to do with Big Red's, trust me.
And as for "hijacking," sorry. I realize Big Red supporters don't like to discuss anything where their record cannot 'prove their points' but the 140 kids who work hard to support Creek's team, win or lose, deserve recognition too!
I am not trying to be rude, I am just wondering why people can't congratulate a group of kids without putting them down by saying "good job, but you're not as good as..."
As for football... Go Creek!

I agree with this. It is sad that there has to be a debate at all. Big Reds band is very good as is Creeks.creekloyal;501784 wrote: I am not trying to be rude, I am just wondering why people can't congratulate a group of kids without putting them down by saying "good job, but you're not as good as..."

Has posting got so dumb that people are arguing about bands? Really ? How about we just be happy for the kids (any sport or activity) ? Now back to the football of Region 11 Division 3. The next few weeks are big games do determine the seeds. Hope to see the Ohio Valley represented in this Region. Good luck and roll red roll.
