Yes, the same Medina Bee's who trailed 21-0 to Canton McKinley last night, outscored them 31-7, and won 31-28

I 'm commenting on this thread because it seems more appropriate. I want the Riders to win more than anyone even more than 5knots but I give us 50% chance on this one. I think our defense is great but I don't think our offense is against decent teams. Triway played us great and if they would have made a couple defensive of plays they missed we would have lost and special teams hurt them. IMO our offense is not being lead in the direction that our strenghts are. We have our defense on the field entirely to much. Against a spread team with good receivers and a decent QB our best defense is keeping their offense off the field and this is accomplished through long offensive ball controlling drives something we don't do well. We are the deep ball home run ball offensive team and that type of game needs luck as well as skill. I hate to do this but I will. I will wager a bet. I will pay out the bet in beers at Jerry's. Those who are willing we can set a date for meeting together for the payoff ( Meeting together at Jerry's for beers what ever the reason is always fun). We are near the seasons end anyway so this will make things interesting. I hope I am wrong I would much rather pay out beers than be right. I will bet on a couple things. #1 We will run the spread with 1 back or no back 75% of the time with 4 of every 6 plays being a pass and 4 of 5 runs being handoffs to Trey.#2 Mason will only run the ball with no block from Trey lined up in backfield. #3 Mason will have no more then 7 carries. #4 Matt Davis will not run the ball on offense at all unless there is an injury and if he does it will be no more then 2 times. I do not think we will change much of anything since Wooster week. The majority of this game will be on our Qb being able to complete passes. Sorry no power run game, no Mason and Matt run game in the red zone. Outside of the bet I do have my own trick play. It will probably be much harder to practice and more difficult to execute in a game then the failed reverse play in the Triway game. Line up Matt Davis behind Mason and hand Matt the ball running behind Masons block!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very Very tough I must be a genius since I came up with the idea and we never seen it tried all season!!!

I will just say that there are plenty of running options with different guys and we have only used 1 or 2. I would like to see Matt and Mason for a game and see what happens for sure.

Go Riders, totally agree with you man! Being a former QB at Orrville, I love seeing the 4-5 wide pass all the time...but it is not this team's strengths! A good running game will ALWAYS help a QB out no matter what level you are playing at. We have 3 starting running backs in Tre, Mason, and Matt and I bet a lot of people envy our roster and how many weapons we do have...but only use 2 maybe 3 on a good night.

If I had my way (which I don't haha, and I'm sure a lot of you are glad I don't :D), on criticical downs, short yardage, redzone, goalline, and two minute you need different personel on the field in each situation!

Critical downs: You need the absolute best players out there...even if they go both ways! ie...have max in on third downs, he just creates another mismatch and CATCHES THE BALL!
Short Yardage: Matt at RB, Mason at FB, Max at TE....this should just be a given, no exceptions!
Redzone: Playmakers should be on the field...including Max, Playaction pass would work great in these situations...especially if we have Matt and Mason in the backfield.
Goal Line: The Davis/Monheim combo is very difficult to stop...you need a yard...you got it with these two!
2-Minute: Turner, Brenner, Rice are you 3 recievers, Max is your middle of the field guy, Tre at RB really good at catching out of the backfield.

These things are just givens and shouldn't have to be brought up....I know Max has been injury prone, but the kid is a player and hardly ever drops a pass if it's in his area. Get him more offensive plays.

After reading DR article I feel even more confident about my bet. Davault worries a about 2 nd and 15 run mason or matt on first down then it will probably be 2nd and 5.

GoRiders,
I said in my blog that I think we need to run the ball 40 times to be effective. 20 for Tre and then another 20 for Mason, Matt, Stew, Kyle.

That should take care of 2/3 of our plays.

I'll be keeping track.

I think it's naive to NOT expect us to get the ball to Stew and Drew. But it has to be done smartly. Max, Cody and Dylan have also shown ability to catch the ball....so we have weapons in the passing game too.

I hope that we start out with the run and gauge it from there. In-game adjustments will be key.

I want turner and Brenner to get the ball for sure. Every time turner touches the ball it has td possibilities. I am looking more of a credible run game opening better qb looks at Brenner and turner. If EC is forced to worry about a punishing run attack I really like our pass chances then.
