I appreciate Journey too but there's no way that their musical talent is in the same league as Rush.

Journey is clean, crisp pop rock (appeals to the ladies). Rush is intricate progressive rock (appeals to men). Apples to oranges. Venus to Mars.

No. Journey is better in all aspects.

^Why do you have to come on and jack the thread??

Start your own thread about journey and you and others can talk about them all you want. This isn't a journey thread though. Don't ruin it for people who started it to discuss Rush.

I saw Loverboy open for Journey the night before I saw Van Halen open for The Rolling Stones back in '85. Journey was good then, but never as good as RUSH.
Beyond the Lighted Stage was a very good recap of Rush, explaining everything you could ever ask about them. The beginnings, the progressions, good and bad changes, how and why they keep evolving, just great life stories of who and what they are. I think its a great film for ANY music fan. When it comes down to artistic and musical talent, Journey is not on the same stage as Rush.
I'll get the dvd Tuesday and can't wait to see them in Oct., the last 2 shows of the tour.

While 2112 was perhaps the first step to what they would eventually become, IMO it would be better suited to be teamed up with in a classical albums segment with Fly by Night or Farewell to the Kings. And Moving Pictures teams up better with Permanent Waves.

Well put Ringz, I'm an old fan of Rush. Only got to see them 4 times, but all four were pure quality.
