The semis and final were all uneventful.

I would say Rafa has made a complete recovery from the injury that caused him to skip Wimbledon and lose the top ranking last year. If we're lucky Del Potro will be able to come all the way back from the injury that has sidelined him, I wouldn't bet on it but it would be nice.

I see NBC tape delayed the finals again.

Tape delay is bullshit in this day and age when you can get the information so readily. Had they shown it live, it would have still started at 7-8 AM Eastern, which tennis fans would get up for.

NBC could show it again at noon for the casual fan and for those out westand still get decent ratings, but no other network is stupid enough to flat out tape delay something that is only a 4-5 hour offset. This is why NBC has next to no sports left on their network.

It was on live, at 9am.

Shit, it was the second semifinal that they did that... oops

I was reading something and it was bitching about tape delaying the Nadal match, didn't read close enough to see which one.

espn was kind enough not to give away the result of the second semi before it was aired on NBC.
I had watched espn news, they didn't say anything about or have it going across the bottom of the screen.

I had the final dvr'd and didn't turn it on until 1:30 or so, started it from the beginning.

I can't complain about tape delay when I watch sports on dvr more often than the live broadcast.
In this day and age there are probably a lot of sports fans doing that especially when it comes to niche sports like tennis. The networks know tennis fans will watch(or record) the event whenever they decide to air it.
