I remember thinking the Federer-Roddick match last year went forever being like 13-11 or something like that in the 5th set.

59-59 is absolutely ridiculous. As someone said upthread, you know it will be over in 2 games tomorrow.

Regarding the light issue, TV is deceiving. I remember the 2000 firestone event where Woods hit it stiff on 18 practically in the dark and on tv it still looked pretty light out. Alot of that is the camera adding more light to the shot than really exists. I have seen that kind of thing a couple of times now where it looks light on tv but is much darker in person.

Unreal. I don't see how this ever ends. Frenchie can't handle Isner's second serve and I don't think Isner can move well enough to win points he can't control with his serve.

I don't have ESPNU so hopefully it lasts a little bit longer until the soccer match is over on ESPN/ESPN2 and they switch over and I can see this.... I find tennis BORING to watch but there is something about this I want to seee

wow huge missed drop shot by Frenchie. Isner was 3 feet behind baseline and it was dumped into the net. 15-30

In other tennis news....................Rafa needed five sets to get past Haase 5-7,6-2, 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.
A lot of five-setters in the early rounds at Wimbledon this year.
Haase dropped a five-setter in the second round of the French too and Rafa improved his five-set match record to 13-3.

Working with cameras I cant attest to this. Its incredible what the 4 different filters do, as well as the ability to change the iris on them. A match stating at 9am, and ending at 10pm has the ability to not change lighting at all on TV if you have a skilled director who can change filters and iris appropriately. ESPN/ABC/CBS/etc obviously hava said directors.

During that Firestone tournament they showed us the actual light about 10 minutes before they ended it and you simply could barely see it was so dark....but it just looked like the sun going down on the tv

John Isner lost today, 6-0, 6-3, 6-2. The match lasted just 1 hour, 14 minutes and the opening set was 16 minutes long. Isner had 0 aces.

On the women's side, Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters both won and will meet Monday in the fourth round.

Could be an excuse but if it is true it explains why he had so much trouble with Falla, lost a set to a qualifier and was beaten by Hewitt for the first time in forever.
