I thnk this is why he didn't start Onyewu. Becuase Bradley knows that at some point, they are going to need to score a goal...so they are going to need to go to 3 defenders and if you put in a rested Onyewu, you will be fine.
even if USA scores early in the 2nd half, they will still bring him in to get fresh legs on the back line...it's a win/win. And besides, the defense hasn't given up a goal yet.
I actually do not mind Onyewu not starting, now that I think about it more.
