Again just from my experience this year. Except for championship and opening game tickets, upper deck seats were $150, the four corners of the stadium were $200, and lower bowl $400. I would assume the structure would be the same, maybe more expensive because Brazil is a more desirable location for people to go than SA was/is.

Yeah, my friend went abroad to South America and said that lodging and food was cheap as hell, in comparison. Not 3rd worldesque, but still not a dent in the pocket of a traveling American.

I want to go to a WC really badly. Maybe I'll be in a better position financially in 4 years (read, have graduated with my degree and have a job).

My buddy and I have talked about going to a WC, and when we saw 2014 was in Brazil I told him that would be an absolute blast. Would be sweet to have an Ohio Chatter get-together at the World Cup in a completely different country, haha.

Websurfinbird and I are interested! Getting married this year, so I guess it will depend on our children situation, but label us interested!

Haha this is awesome OC get together at the 2014 WC! Just think of what else that Donovan goal has done... I mean do you think we'd be talking about going to the 2014 WC if the US didn't make it out of the group? And I agree with Laley, BAB leave them with Grandma you could probably use a week or two vacation anyway. The only memories I really have from when I was 3 is when I learned to add and subtract.

I like it! It's up to everyone in this thread to keep the idea afloat for the next 3-1/2 years, unless of course Justin sells the site to Google, then the trip is on him!

I went to see the USA play Switzerland in 1994 at the Silverdome...don't have a ton of memories from that, though, so will need to make it to a WC as an adult soon!

I saw USA vs. Brazil in the second round in 1994, hosted in Palo Alto (Stanford)....unreal atmosphere. The fact thatit was on teh 4th of July made it an epic event. You couldn't see in the parking lot because there were so many flags out...made you proud to be American, that's for sure.

I will definitely be in Brazil for the World Cup in 2014. Assuming we qualify and don't end up in a horrific group with like Brazil (who will not lose once in 2014 IMO), Spain, and Portugal haha

Saturday is going to be one rowdy-ass day. Gotta love the fight in this team, even as fucked over as they've been in this tournament.

Algeria player Ralik Saifi was frustrated after the game... to release said frustration, he bitch slapped a female reporter who had written an article he did not like in the past as he headed off of the pitch.
She then drilled him back for hitting her pretty much unprovoked.

Just to let everyone know who thinks Brazil is a poor country that in the next five years it is supposed to have a better economy then England. They have discovered billions of dollars worth of oil offshore. Their gonna be one of the richest nations in the world very soon.

Going to the Premiere league and being the best player on the pitch against Chelsea did something to Landon. It changed him as a player it gave him confidence that had been missing on the biggest stage. Until his stint in England this season he would hide or disappear in big games and now hes looking to be the man. I hope to god Everton pays MLS and takes Landon to the big time. If he could play on a team with Howard in England and look like the player he has in the last 6 months Everton could easily finish in the top 4 in the EPL.

Agreed. He was an animal that game. Completely changed his mindset. Howard said after that game you could see the light go on with Landon that he can be the best player on that team (Everton), and its true. He could easily be the best player for them. Much like Dempsey and Fulham. It would be REALLY something to have 2 Americans starring for their EPL Club teams (not playing the goalie position, lol).

I LOVE the call for the goal. Who's the play by play guy? Obviously he's not American but you could tell the whole match how bad he wanted the US to win.

PS check out how funny it is how they labeled the crowd's reaction immediately following the goal. Hilarious.

Ian Darke was PxP. Dude is great. He does EPL games for his job. He doesnt ever hold back on his thoughts, and they are hilarious most of the time.
