I am planning on heading to the Pirates/Indians game this Saturday (I'm a glutton for punishment) and I am very surprised about the Internet ticket market for the Pirates. Prices are ridiculously high on Ebay and even freaking higher on Stubhub.

My question is: Are scalpers allowed in Pittsburgh like they are in Cleveland? I have always had good luck getting good seats from scalpers for the Tribe, and am pretty much counting on that now because I want decent seats but can't justify $40 a piece to see these two teams play.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yeah, you can find tix at the stadium(scalpers)...and with both teams losing consistently, the prices should keep dropping. Also, you should be banned for your username!

i'll be at the game sunday. i have row A seats down the left field line for $27 from stubhub.

PNC is pretty darn cheap with tickets. i just checked stubhub and there are box seats all around the stadium for less than $34. bleacher seats at PNC arent bad either. i have sat there before.

wes - thanks for the info

glory days - You are making my point. I have been to many stadiums and paid much more for tickets, but I am not about to drop that much for Pirates v. Indians. I'm going to be in Pittsburgh either way, so I was checking on the scalper issue because I refuse to pay the prices that are being asked.

yeah i understand that, but they are pretty cheap, not sure how cheap you think you can get good seats for though haha. check stubhub the day of the game too. you can but tickets right up to a few hours before the game with instant downloads.

27 bucks for first row seats on the field is a steal NO matter who is playing.

tell me about it. i bet there is a catch though, like there are nails on the seat or something. i paid 50 something for 7th row next to the dugout in cleveland yesterday. by the 3 inning we upgraded ourselves to 3rd row because there was no one sitting in the first 6 rows of the section next to us, but our section was packed.

Section 31. its the very corner where there are only i think 2 seats. so i think the catch might be its hard to see anything hit to the wall in left field.

I don't know, looking at the map it looks you have a pretty good view/angle of the whole field.

I'm going Saturday. You sure you can't just get them through the box office? They said they were expecting bigger crowds but they're not sold out yet.

Basically, the OP is trying NOT to pay full price or near full price for the tickets. Or at least that's how I'm reading it.

me and my friend have been to about 10 pirates games, we have only bought tickets ahead of time for this game, but that is because we wanted good seats. normally we just walk up to the box office, but we also just get bleacher seats most of the time.

last year against the indians during a weekday series, they have about 20,000 for two games and 30,000 for the thursday game which is what it seems was the norm for the weekend interleague games. PNC holds 38,000.

haha pretty good actually. although any fly ball hit to leftfield was hard to see. had 2 ground balls hit come right at us and hit the fence but were fair so we couldnt reach over and grab them.
