Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I mentioned in my original post that I don't like Butterfly Kisses so anything along those lines wouldn't work for me.

OK let me be very sincere and very honest for a minute Web. You don't understand the song Butterfly Kisses because you are not the father of a little girl who has grown up. Have your father listen to that song and think about dancing with you at your wedding to it, and I will assure you he will get tears in his eyes.

Just the humble opinion of a guy who has three preteen girls.

4ringz I appreciate the sentiment but I'm pretty sure my father wouldn't like that song (if he hasn't already heard it). He is even less of a country music fan than I am.

My dad is a fan of The Who, Beatles, Stones, Santana, Hendrix, Billy Joel, Simon and Garfunkel, Zeppelin to give you all a better idea.

I appreciate the lyrics of Butterfly Kisses but I don't think it's for me or my dad.

Check out...
Steven Curtis Chapman.... Cinderella ( I almost cried during a dance routine of this song about how a young girl grows up and then gets married. All I could picture was my 4 year old already getting married LOL.)

My sister and father danced to "Katie Belle Blue" by Townes Van Zandt. It is a really perfect father daughter dance song. The plus is that my sister's name is Katie, however this song certainly works with any name, as the name is not important in the text. Give it a listen.

If he likes Joel then Lullabye is definitely a good choice.

I'm going to agree with websurfinbird, Butterfly Kisses should join Christmas Shoes as songs to be sent into perma-purgatory. At least I can honestly say I've never heard the song at a wedding reception, but from what I understand it is fairly popular.

I think (and could be wrong about this) at our reception my wife danced with her Dad to Unforgettable, considering she sees him once every other year it was probably an appropriate sentiment!
